Never really cared for "Don't Be Cruel".The only Bobby Brown song that I really like is "Every Little Step".

I absolutely love "If It Isn't Love." It's the best song on that album.

But "Don't Be Cruel" wins easily. It's not just Bobby's best song, it's also Babyface's best song and it proved Face could (at times) hit as hard as New Jack Swing master Teddy Riley. No radio edits will do, I need "Cruel Prelude" then the full album version.

Agreed on the first point. As for the second, it's close. They're definitely my top 2 on Heart Break.

"Don't be cruel" is a stone cold classic. Loved his stylised rapping on it. And those haunting keys aswell. Awesome stuff. I agree with AlexdeParis that La and Babyface never really got this hard again.

I still love "if it isn't love". Its pure pop and my fav off "heartbreak". I love the intro and the middle 8 is fantastic, particually the funny response from the guys "you love her? What!". Classic stuff. But "dont be cruel" is still my preferred song.

If It Isn't Love #7 Pop / #2 R&B (Don't Be Cruel was #1 at the same time it peaked at #2)

New Edition's peaked one spot higher but Don't Be Cruel had a longer life on the charts as it went Gold.

Yea! both of there songs were hot at the same time. If I remember correctly, they were on the same tour together then to with Al B Sure. Those were the days....
