Of course you do, when everybody was praising her, you praised her too.Now people start bash her, you bash her too....makes sense

I never praised her. NEVER! I've never been a fan of her, I just liked some of her songs 3 years ago. Lol! I will never bow to public opinion. Do not write nonsense about who did not meet in person.

It's like that saying: Follow the leader. "If he's doing it you might as well do it too."

Sweetie, if we can't write stuff about people we did not meet on this forum, we might as well quit this whole forum....

For me there is nothing more insulting than absolutely identify with the crowd. I've never been a fan of Gaga and hardly will be, but if she really will create music that impressed me, I could be her last and only fan. But so far I see only regression in her work.

That's just silly, she's still the hottest name in show biz! All she needs is a no:1 single so people will shut up

Not a fan but I have to admit "the edge of glory" is epic. I could imagine it being played in stadiums for years to come.

Hmm she seems to be over every week but I steadily see her on my Television Screen and Newspapers.

Guess folks don't want this generation to have any pop superstar who isn't a disney-fied Barbie Doll cut out character... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

She was incredible, up until bad romance. After that it seems like it all got to her head and now she's trying way too hard. ![]()

People are never satisfied these days.

Ohhhhh, so another one of those people who think an artist should follow what YOU think they should rather than you appreciate an artist for their journey.
She's 3 records in. "A big disappointment" doesn't even qualify. You didn't know her before she became famous so you have nothing to compare her to. Thus far, each record has been more successful than the last.
People are sooooooooooooooooo possessive and insecuuuuurrrrre.

reading this made me put her on after so many weeks, I'm rocking Hair

I nearly forgot about it, my favourites on the album are Black Jesus and Marry the Night. I don't care much for the singles.

Ohhhhh, so another one of those 'monsters' who get butthurt over a simple opinion instead of respecting that other people think differently than them.
Good for her. Glad she's successful. She probably works very hard. I don't care to know her before she became famous, who gives a shit about that? I liked her before, don't like her now. Maybe you're the one who's insecure. Not everyone has to like your precious mother monster.

Bad Romance has been praised as some of her best work. And she is certainly not a "freak", not any more than anyone else on this planet is. She's a performer and that's the way she chooses to express her work, and just because you don't agree with her choices doesn't make her a freak.
With that said, I think she ended up alienating the casual fans more than before with this album. The Fame and The Fame Monster were pop albums, and they could easily appeal to fans of most music genres. This album, from what I've heard, has a lot more of a rock-influence. In addition, her look has changed to coincide with the album, so she said goodbye to the mega-blonde hair/bow made of hair/yellow hair.
I think that as the casual fans trickle away, she'll be left with the diehard fans that appreciate any direction she chooses to take musically. Right now, it's hard to tell who likes her and who likes her because everyone likes her. Though I doubt she'll "disappear" unless by choice. time flies.

I agree. I mean, I don't like her but to call her a freak is just ignorant. I think that she's trying too hard lately, but I admire the careful planning she takes. She said that each outfit represents something; I mean, I think that's creative and thoughtful. I just feel like the way she does all this is not natural, like she's forcing herself, and I think that her ideas are great but the way she is going about them is hard to follow and in my honest opinion, hard to appreciate because of it (personally).

Well said, fair points, would read again, A++++.
Born This Way is an adventurous album. That's the best way I can put it. I get why it has put some people off, but I think we all had to have known it was going in this direction because she damn near screamed it from the top of her lungs. The whole Born This Way attitude and shtick began long before it was released and it does perplex me as to why people see such a huge difference. To me, I feel like its evermore cohesive. Hell, you could look at the 3 albums as a trilogy with BTW being the pre-quel to The Fame and The Fame Monster being the ultimate pop downfall. I enjoy that you could even think of her records in this manner.
Pop stars simply don't put any meaning into their work anymore, be it forced or natural, at all. It's refreshing and encouraging to see someone whose still "got it".

Though I like her casually, I can't say I'm disappoined in her even if I don't like every single track. I'm so impressed with how much she has sold in such a short time too. At least she has the talent to back it up. But if people are calling her weird or a freak cause of her image, I think it's immature cause it's just all an act and makeup, and she's not the first artist to act like that and will not be the last.

....debuted at number 1 .....Judas peaked at number 10, (this was her worst performing single
....many of her songs charted on the Hot 100 ...jumped into the Top 10 .... and her single Edge of Glory, while still a huge hit,
These are the author's own words.
Lady Gaga is far, far, faaaaar from over.
She has in a very short period of time built up a very commanding (and loyal) fanbase. She has become a Madonna, a Morrissey, a Greatful Dead, in the sense that she has built a cult of personality with a very devoted following of "Monsters".
And unlike so many of her peers, this girl can truly sing, perform, ...just do it all.
Will she top album sales of her previous albums (to include Born This Way)?
Probably not. Will she need to? No. She's here to stay.

Over at 25? If she was at least in her 30's an argument could be made.
- E-mail - orgNote - ![]() |
Pretty much. Plus ain't that what most artists do? Sometimes people evolve and some fans who are not as hardcore leave? I mean we're on a site dedicated to a man who evolved so much that folks just started not feeling it and leaving and he's still around 33 years later.

She seemed to want to get touring out of the way before the summer, and the latest round of promotions were focused on the adult fanbase. She also has some duets that are planned to be released before the end of the year, one with Cher, and one with Tony Bennett. If Cher gets a #1, that would mean she's had a #1 hit single every decade. And it's inevitable that she'll sing with Madonna, and prob. write songs with her or for her.
I do think in coming years we're going to see Lady Gaga writing and producing other artists when she's on "break".
I think they're planning on her hosting SNL this season. I also won't be surprised if she does "Storytellers".
