MC Hammer=legend?

Do you consider MC Hammer a legendary icon and innovator of pop rap and dance in hip-hop?

I would consider him an icon, but not an innovator.

He was big at the same time Ice Ice Baby became the first rap song to top the Billboard Hot 100. So if he was an icon for hip hop, it was because of timing and rap continuing to reach out to a wider audience. I would imagine there was lots of hip hop and new jack swing during 1989/90 and he is a part of that movement now. If he is known now, it's for Can't Touch This having a rebirth through Pepsi a few years ago.

How many rappers/legends had as many people on their payroll as well as on stage at one time like MC Hammer did? That should be the ?.

In his own mind, yes.
