George Michael Reveals More About 'Gay Collective' Dance Album

George Michael has spoken about the album he is planning to make with a "gay collective" of artists.

The singer, who is due to tour the UK in the winter with a 41 piece symphonic orchestra, had previously revealed that his next studio album would be made with a collective of gay artists, in an effort to "correct the damage" his recent behaviour had caused in "letting young gay kids down."

Now, revealing more about the record, Michael said:

"For this album I'm going to be working with either gay or gay friendly artists, and it'll be a mixture of tracks sung by me and others by young gay artists – possibly unknown ones. And I've lined up some really great dance producers to work on it too, so it'll be a pretty stunning record."

He continued:

"I'll be 48 when the album comes out, but I have to say that gay men's relationship with dance music probably doesn’t end at the same time as straight people's does!"

LOL!

Ill say this for George, Im glad hes coming to terms with his identity as a gay man. There is no doubt he really suffered psychologically and emotionally having to put on a big lie and act like he was something that he completely wasnt, during the 80's when he was a huge star.

But I think over recent years, this coming to terms phase with his homosexuality is really interferring with his immense gifts.

But I can see why it has come to that.

I hope he can return to writing incredible songs like he used to.

Boy George used to but recently I found a picture of them hanging out somewhere together. It was kinda surreal.

Lord... he is getting on the clubbing/dance pop circuit? George what about that great funky/soulful msuic you make? you have been reduced to clubbing garbage confused

I mean it's bad enough we have to wait years and years and years for a new album from him.

I agree. But he probably got that idea from hanging around with Boy George too much. George used to do nice pop soulful music but went down that boring club direction too.

Yes! I don't get this frenzy to do club music. You can always do remixes for the clubs. I'm not saying don't do remixes. But on the album put more pop/soul songs for people who aren't into clubbing. Dance music has its place in clubs and if you are working out at the gym, but no one wants to sit home listening to 15 remixes in a row.

And why this remix frenzy? One or two club remixes is fine, but Boy George now does 10 or 12 remixes of the same song although the original song is already a club track. Makes no sense to me. So expect 10 or more remixes of GM's next song although they all sound almost the same. Thump thump thump.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Or maybe he just likes the drama. lol He and Jon Moss lived in the same neighborhood for years but neither one didn't wanna talk to each other. It was only after George's Behind the Music documentary aired that they made up. lol I guess after seeing how stupid both of them were towards each other after Culture Club broke up. razz

George was stupid towards Jon by writing horrible things about him in his autobiography and really invading Jon's privacy. Jon never said anything bad about George. In fact, there were friends in the 90's and even wrote a song and talked but George ruined it by writing the book. They stopped talking to each other after the book came out. Jon was always perfectly wiling to be friends, but George had a problem with that. Same with George Michael, he always said nice things about BG and wanted to be friends, but George ruined it by slamming GM in the media.

But the reason BG didn't like GM had nothing to do with any type of sexual attraction. GM isn't his type because he's gay, and George only likes "straight" guys. . BG was just jealous that GM had a lot more critical and commercial success as a solo artist than he did.

spit I didn't know all that went down. I see why Jon reacted kinda negatively then...
