Free Aretha Franklin Concert Tonight In Brooklyn!

For those who are interested and live in the NY or metro area.

Come out and see the Queen of Soul tonight @ 7:30 in Coney Island!

Aretha is a legend and with her getting older and being sick recently, I decided i'm definitely gonna go. I might not get a chance to see her again.

Anyway, it should be a great concert! Hope it doesn't rain again tonight in NYC

Excellent performance by The Queen of Soul. Just got in, and to say that I'm exhausted would be an understatement. Had no idea I was such a fan of Aretha Franklin before witnessing her greatness on stage tonight. Thanks to the OP for posting this announcement, I would not have wanted to miss this!

And now, time to tighten-up my Aretha Franklin collection.

Based on this review, the tv coverage and the org member that attended the show last night - Miss Franklin must've brought her A game to the BK...

Ms. Aretha was in top form last night! I didn't get as close to the stage as I had hoped (no thx to a certain family member making us late! hmph lol) but I had a wonderful time nontheless. She did some improv which was cool and did all her hits as well of course. The turnout for Aretha was massive! So many people came. It was a great night. I hope to see her again soon.

The highlight for me was when she sat down at the piano and performed "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". touched Then followed up by taking Brooklyn to CHURCH! All of Coney Island got the Holy Ghost up in there! lol And Cinnamon is right: There was a MASSIVE turnout. But it was at that moment, while she was tickling those ivories that I finally "GOT IT": Aretha Franklin is not only The Queen of Soul, this sister is HARD ROCK! The show, and song selections, were very well structured.

She brought tears to my eyes on so many occasions last night. Couldn't believe I was actually in her presence, listening to her sing these songs that I've heard all my life. And I thought of all my family and friends that would have loved to have been there with me (who are no longer with us). But they were last night... in spirit, as Aretha's voice rang out across the Atlantic Ocean, there on the surf at Coney Island last night. And the fireworks along the boardwalk were a nice finale to the show.

My old ass was feeling so good, I even got on some of those new roller-coasters they have there at Coney Island now. How come nobody told me Coney Island was all new and improved?!? I had a BLAST!

OH NO! shake Can't deal with HOTDOG MEAT, lol. lol Though I agree, no trip to Coney Island is complete without a Nathan's hotdog. However, there was a mob of hungry folks surrounding that place long into the night, lol.

...Probably like Pink's here (a "Queen" favorite)

I was in H'wood this past weekend and wanted to stop badly but the line was a serious deterrent. confused

I must admit, I HAVE enjoyed a Pink's dog or two, lol. But it's been a while, lol. The last time I ate there was probably back in the 80's. I was probably more of a fan of Tommy's (...not that Tommy's Burgers were any healthier, lol).

It was truly a spiritual experience. At several points during the show, I was thinking to myself: "THIS is why she's been crowned The Queen of Soul!".
