Jimi's Fans: Can Somebody Shed Some Light On The Doriella Du Fontaine Project?

The comments say that the sessions were recorded in 1969, but the mix sounds like it was done in the early 80s, I'm saying this because of how Buddy Miles' drums sound like.

Anyway, was there supposed to be a shelved album I wasn't aware of? And further more, is there a compilation that have Jimi's outtakes contributions?

I'll say two words that should put this all in perspective for you...Alan Douglas. confused

You can hear everything there is on the CD involving Hendrix in that clip.

Track listing:
8:47 Doriella Du Fontaine
4:54 Doriella Du Fontaine (Radio Edit)
4:10 Doriella Du Fontaine (Instrumental)
2:28 O.D. (no Jimi involvement)

Jimi Hendrix: guitar & bass
Buddy Miles: drums & organ

Since it was recorded in '69 and involved Jalal Mansur Nuriddin ("Lightning Rod") of The Last Poets, it is claimed to be a precursor to Hip-Hop. shrug

I acquired it some time ago out of curiosity.
Satisfaction hasn't brought me back yet.

There's not really much to tell and as with all stories there are two sides.
But for me it boils down to two horrific posthumous Hendrix releases while he had creative control of the estate.
Original tracks by Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell were scrapped and replaced by session musicians.
