Don't get me wrong, I do sometimes "get" what he means when he says things sometimes, but other times, its almost as if he purposely says things to provoke the media, displaying this outlandish, image of him...in which, using this thread as an example, gets people talking.

...I honestly don't think anything he's said has been stated with the intent to provoke, shock or offend anyone, but that for whatever reasons people completely misunderstand everything that comes out of his mouth. Plus I think some people just want to read the most negative things possible into what he says, even if that was never his intent. Right now it's like the 'in' thing, the cool and acceptable thing, to shit on Kanye, and I even think that a lot of people kind of 'get off' on it. It's like the pack of bullies on the playground type mentality.

If I knew him, I'd tell him to just stop even commenting on any of this stuff and even stop doing interviews/press, in general. Just record music when he wants, and perform/tour, and then go back to his private life.

Yeah, he probably won't stop anytime soon because he thinks he can fix this. He hasn't realized (yet) that really this isn't even about him. It's about people just being assholes and just wanting to shit on someone, anyone, and he happened to be chosen as the target of the Day. And people get off on knowing that they affect him and seeing that he responds which continues the cycle, they keep targeting him because they know they're guaranteed to get that payoff of him reacting.

I don't think it'll ruin his career either, people are still going to buy his music, but in terms of his own peace of mind and just stopping the whole clusterfuck against him, the way to do that is just for him to stop even responding to them, stop even talking to the press, and stop even reading what is said about him in general. Just completely disconnect himself from all of that, and just do what he signed on to do, and then go about his business.
