Brandy Signs with RCA/Chameleon Records

Brandy has signed with RCA/Chameleon Records and will release a new record in early 2012!

The 32-year-old singer and actress dished, “This is truly a blessing. [Chameleon CEO] Breyon Prescott, [RCA CEO] Peter Edge and [RCA President and COO] Tom Corson believe in me and have introduced me to a home that also believes and knows exactly what to do with the type of music I’m doing. Breyon and the team at RCA/Chameleon are creative and forward-thinking and I am thrilled to be working with them.”

Brandy took part in the 11th season of Dancing with the Stars and filmed a guest stint on Drop Dead Diva earlier in the year.

"Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I dig most of Brandy's material and I wish her the best but when your entire career depends on who your producer is and your budget, u are in BIG trouble.

Brandy is only 32 and her Music Career is FAR from over and her Career as an "Entertainer" is far from over. She's Produced, Acted and dropped Albums. The BESt is yet to come for her. I wish her the best.

I wish her the best too and she can continue to drop albums but the problem is she's finished

as far as who her record company markets the music too. That audience isn't interested in

Brandy now.

I love her voice. But she and Kelly Rowland are on the same path. People just aren't checking for them, which is sad.

well the problem is that reality show Brandy had the completely changed her fanbase after that lie of being married, when she wasnt... her records sales wheren't the same after.

I used to despise Brandy in the 90s and openly rallied behind Aaliyah and Monica just to spite her and her annoying fans, but the music scene is in such a need for R&B/black music to become prominent again that I find myself welcoming any former hit maker back. Much as Mariah Carey makes my skin crawl, even if she were to release an album right now I might even look at it. I'm tired of dance and electro pop.

why don't these people just go indie and do shows around the country and build up a following. Guarantee she's gonna get dropped again. Guess its not that simple $$$

Very good point. Some of these artists don't realize that the industry has changed drastically. They go from label to label, hoping for the "hit" record that will never happen.I think Ciara just signed a new deal, too.Good luck with that lol Do something different! Instead of an album, release an EP with just a few songs.Promote it,perform it live, and build up anticipation for a complete album.

This is great news! Brandy is one of those artists that can do no wrong to me. As long as her voice is on it, I'll probably like it. <3

I wish the best for Brandy. My daughters and I loved her in the 90's. She was the ''Beyonce'' of her day. Sucks how underrated she is

I don't think Brandy has ever been a "do shows around the country and build up a following" type of artist. She is a media-personality that sings. She uses TV to promote her music. She has a few TV projects coming up and is in talks for a film role. Now, she also has record deal (again). She's not a teenager anymore so her days of "building up a following" are over. People know who she is, she just has to make music people want to buy.
