Prove what point? That I'm a bothered old man that stans for a has-been? That point is proven whenever I touch my keyboard to defend her. Touchy? Yes. Amused? No. And my obvious lack of a life is telling in that I get my kicks out of defending celebrities who don't know me in internet forums. The mess, my dear, is me.

Exactly. wink Glad you can finally admit to your senseless behavior on here, little old man. lol

and I find it hilarious that you particularly pin-point my post out of everyone who said Janet isn't a legend on here. lol Poor bitter old man.

Here I'll say it again - Janet Jackson isn't a legend no matter how many gifs you make on GIFsoup or how many old videos you post of her miming to a pre-recorded track won't change this fact. She's mostly referred to as "Michael Jackson's little sister" by the masses and all of her contemporaries surpassed her while she's stuck performing old hits in little theaters, lol.

Get mad.

That changing my quote thing is more tired than your witless retorts (and I'm the one who's childish? lol). But if that's the best way you can get in a dig, then go for it. It just proves my point about you all the more. The reason you were dragged, read and pin-pointed out is because you were unfortunate enough to butt into a discussion I was having with someone else. And, how funny to see that you had to go back and re-edit your post to put in one last little zinger with your bolded "Get mad" statement at the end lol lol lol . So sad. Honey, you lost. Bye now.

DEAD at an old, tired man who stans for a tired artist calling anything tired. lol lol The nerve.

LMFAOOOO at you calling anyone's retorts "witless". When you're the one who's hunched over your Compaq using recycled retorts. STOP. lol

It just proves my point about you all the more.

No, silly, you proved MY point. You're touched by my posts and here you are 4-5 pages later still banging on that keyboard with the SAME responses. lol I have your mind in a tizzy and you don't even realize this.

The reason you were dragged, read and pin-pointed...

HOLD UP. falloff You didn't drag or read anything, hun. Don't flatter yourself. A special needs child could've came up with something far better and original. BTW, the only thing you are dragging is that gut currently resting on your lap.

And, how funny to see that you had to go back and re-edit your post to put in one last little zinger with your bolded "Get mad" statement at the end lol lol lol .

What's even funnier is that you did exactly what I said. lol lol

So sad. Honey, you lost. Bye now.

Aww, using the same tired reads, eh? Unfortunate but understandable seeing as though you speak from experience.

At least, you tried. I'll give you that. lol

I went through my silly competition days too, when I was a teenager. I do remember the 80's and though I believe fans here when they say Janet was popular, I really didn't know of her until the 90's, but I knew exactly who michael was, even if from afar and in passing, everyone knew he was the it guy even if they weren't a fan or fan yet, and madonna was my first childhood hero. The minute I discovered Janet, I took a way bigger interest in her and my janet collection is bigger than madonna's though I have all of madonna's cd's, but can admit reality too. And with time, I wish Janet was getting more credit, but I find it's people who remember her when they were feeling her duing an era that get it. I see people born in the late 70's/early 80's that loved her best during the janet. era and my aunt had the Control record, but if I see younger kids liking 80's and 90's music, there are so many artists they credit including MJ, but barely Janet, and she's not on playlists of songs from then though she deserves it, and they are most likely to discover songs like Frozen or Ray of Light over Runaway or I Get Lonely, though I think this might be changing if they are discovering her through MJ's loss. She is known for her beauty, good moves and being MJ's sister most of the time and it's unfortunate, but it is what it is. And even though I like all of Janet's music of the 00's, I really felt that after All For You, Madonna's really brought it again, I wasn't feeling her as much in the 90's though now I like that stuff.

Oh and when Janet and Madonna tour here, everyone talks about getting Madonna tickets, especially older people, I barely hear about Janet from those people though from people among my age group, I have heard about Janet often and from MJ fans too and then start wishing everyone got it, though I guess there is an unwritten rule that she already has a famous sibling lol And at least the world hasn't missed out MJ, even if it looks like that a lot of times. I really think so many MJ fans, and I'm guilty too at times, think more people hate MJ than they really do. I always met people who loved and appreciated him just as much as people who hated him in my offline life.

[Edited 8/9/11 17:44pm]

I've seen Janet three times. So-so shows. More fun watching her videos certainly.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

lol Pretty sad, isn't it? She's the only one in that family who was able to not only make it out of Michael's giant shadow, but to become a pop icon in her own right. Even if you don't like or respect her as an artist, you can at least give her that.

See, this is why I tend to not like Janet fans.

So many of you love to insinuate her alleged influence on every damn singer with uterus. None of them would be here if not for her? Really? I'm sorry, does Janet own some talent agency that they are signed to?

Jody? Did you really cite Jody? As in Jody Watley, who was in Shalamar a decade before Janet finally broke with Control? Who has never had *any* personal or professional ties to Janet...

Paula? As in Paula Abdul whose career started with the L.A. Lakers, got her break in the entertainment industry via Jackie, and choreographed the "Torture" video. Don't act like Janet put her on. If anything, in addition Jam & Lewis making her sound decent enough, Janet is the one who owes Paula a debt of career gratitude for making those Control videos look like something. Before Paula, this is what a Janet video looked like:

rolleyes I know you're a fan of hers and all, but no. Just, no.

I could call bullshit on several of the other names dropped on that list too, like Katy Perry and Ginuwine, but I've made my point. Hell, I'm surprised you didn't list Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette and Courtney Love in there as well.

To reiterated what I said several pages ago...no, I don't consider Janet at all legendary. At best I consider her a "singer" who had enough big hits to be amongst those years bigger movers and shakers during her peak '86-'94 years, but that's about it. She never ruled the scene; there was always someone bigger than her.

These are all of Jody's videos from her solo debut. Name one that even looks remotely similar to any of Janet's Control videos. Jody had/has her own style, and it was not at all akin to Janet's. The only thing they had in common was the era.

im a HUGE jody fan, there was no need to post all the videos. just the attitude, and style of clothing reminds you of janet jackson. no other female ever duplicated the amazing janet jackson videos of the 80s. i noticed extensions and weaves became real popular after janetjackson control.... everyone was wearing the sliver hoop earrings and long curly hair to the side.

LOL! No. Patti LaBelle, Mary Jane Girls, Vanity, Klymaxx...all were wearing big hair'd weaves pre-Control. Just another attempt to give Janet erroneous credit for something that was beyond her. Hell, Jody's was sporting big, long hair and large earrings in the "Do They Know It's Christmas" video from 1984, while Janet still had that short Fame bob.

Jody's attitude and style of clothing was nothing like Janet's. Hers was much more avant-grade, colorful and/or sexy. In no way did Jody style herself after Janet.
