Definately! I think Janet's bodyguard Joey must've given him/her the smackdown at some point. "Get up off that grey line"

I don't think she's no longer a fan but I think there's some bitterness between her and Sean...

Not sure if it's the same, but I have had problems with Janet's bodyguards too. One asshole was blocking my view at a promotional performance she did and pretending he couldn't hear us though he was standing right between me and janet
Another time, a gate was set up in front of a garage so we could wave to her exiting her venue, but then she did it on another side of the street, and other fans were smart to wait there, and they were unapologetic.

Definately! I think Janet's bodyguard Joey must've given him/her the smackdown at some point. Nope. She just wants to get rid of that stan image.

I doubt a bodyguard forced her hand. Come on now. Like smoothcriminal said, get out of the stan image. I just think she just saying her own peace on it. To me it don't sound like an ex-fan.

Right! With all the "lipping" and "has-been" crap that TrueEthiopion or whatever it's name is talks, he's really just a disgruntled Janet fan at heart. Poor thing. Here's a kiss for you, boo.

Qaulity or Quantity? . I understand what you're saying,it's nice to see a Janet fan actually admit that Madonna is more successful than Janet, Dare I say it, I've seen a few fans try to put Janet and Madonna on the same line when it comes to success and it even makes me chuckle

I went through my silly competition days too, when I was a teenager. I do remember the 80's and though I believe fans here when they say Janet was popular, I really didn't know of her until the 90's, but I knew exactly who michael was, even if from afar and in passing, everyone knew he was the it guy even if they weren't a fan or fan yet, and madonna was my first childhood hero. The minute I discovered Janet, I took a way bigger interest in her and my janet collection is bigger than madonna's though I have all of madonna's cd's, but can admit reality too. And with time, I wish Janet was getting more credit, but I find it's people who remember her when they were feeling her duing an era that get it. I see people born in the late 70's/early 80's that loved her best during the janet. era and my aunt had the Control record, but if I see younger kids liking 80's and 90's music, there are so many artists they credit including MJ, but barely Janet, and she's not on playlists of songs from then though she deserves it, and they are most likely to discover songs like Frozen or Ray of Light over Runaway or I Get Lonely, though I think this might be changing if they are discovering her through MJ's loss. She is known for her beauty, good moves and being MJ's sister most of the time and it's unfortunate, but it is what it is. And even though I like all of Janet's music of the 00's, I really felt that after All For You, Madonna's really brought it again, I wasn't feeling her as much in the 90's though now I like that stuff.
Oh and when Janet and Madonna tour here, everyone talks about getting Madonna tickets, especially older people, I barely hear about Janet from those people though from people among my age group, I have heard about Janet often and from MJ fans too and then start wishing everyone got it, though I guess there is an unwritten rule that she already has a famous sibling And at least the world hasn't missed out MJ, even if it looks like that a lot of times. I really think so many MJ fans, and I'm guilty too at times, think more people hate MJ than they really do. I always met people who loved and appreciated him just as much as people who hated him in my offline life. [Edited 8/9/11 17:44pm]

I think that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' production and songwriting is lengendary and she is very fortunate to be a recipient of their work. In regards to Prince I'm a fan, In regards to music I'm a fanatic!!

Again, why are you getting touchy? Nobody on here knows each other on a personal level so what's your point? Aren't you like 35 years old? LOL. It's an internet forum, sir.
and again with this autograph stiffing story? So childish. I never encountered Janet and don't plan on getting an autography from Janet Jackson in 2011, lol.
I find it funny that you're trying way too hard to give unbothered vibes when you're writing paragraphs to prove a point. Just stop. If you don't give a fuck you wouldn't have to constantly keep saying it.
and LMAO at a 30+ year old, Janet stan telling anyone to get a life. A mess.

at 3 posters getting personal. That's when you know you hit a nerve... When they resort to name calling and personal attacks over a celebrity that doesn't even know they exist.
and purplethunder - your name should be Charmin from the way you're so far up Sean's ass.
Not a stan. But I do know that you're still traumatized by the TVR vs. HIStory.

I'm not trying to get out of a "stan image". Over the years you listen, you watch a certain artist and realize things. A lot of shoulda, coulda, woulda... and half-assing. I just don't think her heart is in it anymore.
Yea, I'm def. saying my peace but of course, you can't say that on here when you have middle-aged stans of 80's artists that still live in the past. The jig is up...

Nah, not really. You were banned for a while after that, so I couldn't find any ways to annoy your ass. So I was forced to leave you alone then. But now you've come back, bigger and badder than ever, and I just cannot resist.

I still love her like crazy, but can admit when she already peaked and still do like the recent music a lot though it's different from the past. She didn't stay the same person with era after era even at her creative peak, so same thing now. I think she feels less pressure to prove herself, she had MJ's popularity overshadowing her and everyone else and carved out her own path, something Latoya failed to do, and Jermaine briefly did.

For one everyone on this site isnt middle age... there are alot of teens and folks in their 20's here
Two, if you feel everyone here are ALL 80's delusional music stans... than WHY ARE YOU HERE?
In case you havent notice this is a MUSIC FORUM... period. The shit is not that serious for you to be ranting on like a derange psycho. The whole point is for people to express their views, discuss music, give out informtion etc etc.. if you rather not do that then leave... seriously
You have already said your piece on Janet and what you thought.. I dont see the point in beating a dead horse... its not going to change others view, you expressed yourself... run along now or act civilized or continue to make a fool out of yourself

I agree. Nice to see a Janet fan that's NOT in denial for once.

I do like her last three albums, but they are not like the ones before it
Damita Jo-A good mix of some of her best ever, some medicore and some of her worst ever
20 YO-It flows well, but most of the tracks don't stand well on their own with a few exceptions
Discipline-A strong album, despite her not writing the songs. I love almost every song on here and it was a step in the right direction for the most part. I loved the tour.
I do wish she had bigger hits from them though for the songs that were good. I used to get so annoyed one minute that she had changed, and then enjoyed her so much like no one else existed for another minute. I think it's more middle ground now. She still enjoys what she does, but it's not like before and she feels more accomplished, though I do hope we get another RN or VR one day.
About her doing movies, I'm in the minority for not complaining about it. I really think doing movies and doing songs for the soundtrack is really a bold move on her part. She can introduce different styles of music this way too. [Edited 8/9/11 19:05pm]

Take a look in the mirror.
and I'm just replying to people quoting me. Perhaps you should do yourself a favor and mind your own business.
P.S. - How ironic for a poster such as yourself to ask someone why they're on a forum AND to tell them to act civilized. LOL! You're the one that constantly baits on Janet's forum and I'll leave it at that. [Edited 8/9/11 19:08pm]

Prove what point? That you're an annoying troll? That point is proven whenever you put finger to keyboard. Touchy? No. Amused? Definately.
