Definately! I think Janet's bodyguard Joey must've given him/her the smackdown at some point. lol

I don't think she's no longer a fan but I think there's some bitterness between her and Sean...

Not sure if it's the same, but I have had problems with Janet's bodyguards too. One asshole was blocking my view at a promotional performance she did and pretending he couldn't hear us though he was standing right between me and janet

Another time, a gate was set up in front of a garage so we could wave to her exiting her venue, but then she did it on another side of the street, and other fans were smart to wait there, and they were unapologetic.

Probably because she wanted to shake her image as a Janet stan. We all know what she really is on the inside, though. lol

falloff Right! With all the "lipping" and "has-been" crap that TrueEthiopion or whatever it's name is talks, he's really just a disgruntled Janet fan at heart. Poor thing. Here's a kiss for you, boo.

You're right on that one, BUT I wouldnt necessarily say that makes Madge and Michael better artist or entertainers than Janet.

For example it's easy for MJ to take a few things from Janet's videos and no one say anything about it. BUT if were the otherway around people would be in Janet's ass crack. (Pardon the language)

Despite the fact they are related, Lots of MJ fans like to point out that Janet gets everything from her bro making it see m like she's just straight up unoriginal, even though She was a Big inspiration to him.

As for Madonna, Not being a hater or anything like that, But I never saw what "popped" about her. I was watching her videos, or attempting to watch her videos yesterday, and I found myself gazing off or skimming through the videos. Her music just doesnt fit me, but now that i think about it Katy Perry/Gaga/ or rihanna's music doesnt fit me either. And those of what I just listed are Huge Madonna Influencees.

About your highlighted comment, I didn't mean they are better than her. All three artists are in my top 3, with MJ being number one. I'm not talking about double standards between MJ and/or Janet borrowing ideas. I'm talking about worldwide popularity, pop culture impact and worldwide sales/numbers and tours of Madonna and MJ, with Janet being pale in comparison though she has also done really big things and it doesn't make her inferior to them in terms of quality. LOVE Madonna and have since about 1986 or so and love her creativity and albums and videos and all, but I've seen both her and Janet on tour, and prefer Janet's skills over hers live, just my preference, though Madonna pushes the envelope with images, technology and so forth right now on hers.

[Edited 8/9/11 17:23pm]

Qaulity or Quantity? lol . I understand what you're saying,it's nice to see a Janet fan actually admit that Madonna is more successful than Janet, Dare I say it, I've seen a few fans try to put Janet and Madonna on the same line when it comes to success and it even makes me chuckle lol

I went through my silly competition days too, when I was a teenager. I do remember the 80's and though I believe fans here when they say Janet was popular, I really didn't know of her until the 90's, but I knew exactly who michael was, even if from afar and in passing, everyone knew he was the it guy even if they weren't a fan or fan yet, and madonna was my first childhood hero. The minute I discovered Janet, I took a way bigger interest in her and my janet collection is bigger than madonna's though I have all of madonna's cd's, but can admit reality too. And with time, I wish Janet was getting more credit, but I find it's people who remember her when they were feeling her duing an era that get it. I see people born in the late 70's/early 80's that loved her best during the janet. era and my aunt had the Control record, but if I see younger kids liking 80's and 90's music, there are so many artists they credit including MJ, but barely Janet, and she's not on playlists of songs from then though she deserves it, and they are most likely to discover songs like Frozen or Ray of Light over Runaway or I Get Lonely, though I think this might be changing if they are discovering her through MJ's loss. She is known for her beauty, good moves and being MJ's sister most of the time and it's unfortunate, but it is what it is. And even though I like all of Janet's music of the 00's, I really felt that after All For You, Madonna's really brought it again, I wasn't feeling her as much in the 90's though now I like that stuff.

Oh and when Janet and Madonna tour here, everyone talks about getting Madonna tickets, especially older people, I barely hear about Janet from those people though from people among my age group, I have heard about Janet often and from MJ fans too and then start wishing everyone got it, though I guess there is an unwritten rule that she already has a famous sibling lol And at least the world hasn't missed out MJ, even if it looks like that a lot of times. I really think so many MJ fans, and I'm guilty too at times, think more people hate MJ than they really do. I always met people who loved and appreciated him just as much as people who hated him in my offline life.

I still love her like crazy, but can admit when she already peaked and still do like the recent music a lot though it's different from the past. She didn't stay the same person with era after era even at her creative peak, so same thing now. I think she feels less pressure to prove herself, she had MJ's popularity overshadowing her and everyone else and carved out her own path, something Latoya failed to do, and Jermaine briefly did.

I do like her last three albums, but they are not like the ones before it

Damita Jo-A good mix of some of her best ever, some medicore and some of her worst ever

20 YO-It flows well, but most of the tracks don't stand well on their own with a few exceptions

Discipline-A strong album, despite her not writing the songs. I love almost every song on here and it was a step in the right direction for the most part. I loved the tour.

I do wish she had bigger hits from them though for the songs that were good. I used to get so annoyed one minute that she had changed, and then enjoyed her so much like no one else existed for another minute. I think it's more middle ground now. She still enjoys what she does, but it's not like before and she feels more accomplished, though I do hope we get another RN or VR one day.

About her doing movies, I'm in the minority for not complaining about it. I really think doing movies and doing songs for the soundtrack is really a bold move on her part. She can introduce different styles of music this way too.

Jam & Lewis had hits – big ones – working with artists other than Janet. Janet has had virtually none outside of them. As soon as that team was disturbed, things started going south for her. So, yes, I think a combination of the last name 'Jackson' (Michael) and having those two miracle producers (as well as Rene – who I think was silent "creative" side) in her pocket is what got her over. Before that team was in place, she flopped with her first couple of albums. After that team was disturbed, she flopped again.

Every one of her contemporaries: Mariah, Madonna, even Celine and Whitney were able to deviate from their original hit making machines and continue having big commercial hits and success. Janet hasn't. And because she hasn't, I think that says something about HER. She's not resilient on her own. Her house of cards fell very easily.

You make good points. i kind of agree with this.
