I can't wait until this urban crap goes under. And I hope mainstream electro-pop dies like disco.

"Urban" music is just a new way of saying R&B music really. But yeah, the stuff coming out in recent years is shit and I can't wait to see a return to quality R&B worth listening to.

I'm with you on electro-pop though. I've been waiting for this trend to end for a long time now. It all sounds like techno and house music to me, both of which I could never get into.

I feel like the industry is at crossroads right now and something big is about to happen that will change it all....I dunno...maybe it's just me. I've had this suspicion ever since I saw how successful Adele has been...

I've been over electro-pop for a while now. It's to the point where it all just sounds the same.

I'm just hoping dub step doesn't catch on.

We should have a techno/electropop/dubstep/dance/mainsteam demolition day where we burn all of those records. lol

There's been other heavy artists before, that have had a ton of success, plenty of them; Adele isn't really anything new or novel in that respect so I'm always a little confused when people point to her as being music's savior and/or the start of some new paradigm shift...

As far as the R&B thing goes, I'm not really all that worried, I think it's actually inevitable that it will return to what it was.

Yeah, a crapload of them. Aretha Franklin, Ann Wilson, Kelly Price, Mahalia Jackson, the lead singer from the Mamas and the Papas (whose name escapes me right now for whatever reason)...these are the ones just off the top of my own head.

I'm just waiting for someone new to come along, no matter what size, who is just talented as fuck and impresses the shit out of me, whose work I can relate to. My secret hope has always been to see a black, female, Fiona-Apple type that can play instruments come out in my lifetime. lol

I didn't even bother to click on the link because seeing Chris Brown and Bieber in the same title scared me enough--but the comments on this thread are hilarious though. And another LOL at Shawty Mane---GTFOH, next thing you know Bieber will try to say his grandmother or something was black and he's just "light-skinned *roll eyes*

BTW am I the only one sick of all these collabos going on the past decade or so, these freaking studio acts suck and when they get together on these "songs" it sucks even worse! ARGH!!!! smile

I'm notsaying he's Common, but he's way better than Chris Brown. Don't know why CB continues to rap.

That Bieber boy's ego is outrageously huge. He's about to crash, HARD.

And at least Chris is clearly writing his own wack lyrics. Sounds like a ghostwriter put together that farce Bieber was "spitting."

Yep, he said it. Becuase that's what rap-fans want to know, the sexuality of the rapper.

He threw me off for a while though, with the lipgloss and bowl-haircut.

time flies.

Yeah, I can see him fading out real soon. Hoping for someone to come along and change the whole game and impress the fuck outta me. Is it me, or is everyone out right now just reaally boring? No one is really that impressive right now.

Waiting for another Prince... booty!

Hi Pani, I was just wondering the same thing the other day...it seems like a lot of these current stars are really overhyped and getting the benefit of having a ton of media outlets to make themselves appear to be better than what they really are.
