Happy 85th Birthday Tony Bennett!

He has a Duets 2 coming out next month, and he's currently touring.

My fave for an obvious reason.

I wonder what happened to that album he was recording with Stevie Wonder.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live in an amphitheater two years ago when he was 83, and wow, he could really project his voice in a great way. It was just incredible how long he held notes and at once point he pulled the mic away from his mouth to really show the crowd how he's still got it...We love you Tony B, happy birthday to my favorite Italian-American (next to Robert Deniro) smile

....

biggrin Happy Birthday, Anthony Benedetto! (aka Tony)

BTW, I know it's August, but this is one of my favorite albums from Mr. Bennett, with Robert Farnon's arrangements ....
