Ringer!

I just watched a Pacino movie a few hours ago...I think it was called "Panic in Needle Park"?

That's the correct title. I think it came out in either 1970 or 71.

The last Pacino flick I watched before that was a week or two ago - "Cruising". Good stuff.

I'm kind of a little surprised that I'm just now finding out about him playing Spector. Seriously, I've never seen anyone mention this anyplace before now, which is incredibly weird to me. I mean, it's Pacino playing Spector, why isn't anyone talking about this. neutral

I do know the biopic is expected to come out before year's end. It chronicles Spector's early life up to his conviction of second degree murder.

I for one can't wait to see it.

Dead Ringer. And I'm sure Al will give an on point and excellent performance. I was just watching "Godfather: Part II" last night on AMC. It's amazing that the man is now 71 years old.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

He won Emmys/GGs for his last 2 HBO flicks, Angels in America and You Don't Know Jack. So I wouldn't doubt anything he does playing Spector. Plus it's written and directed by David Mamet and co-stars Helen Mirren so he betta make room for more awards. nod

Gonna have to see this one. Pacino can play spectre if he can handle Shakespeare's Shylock. wink

Honestly, he could probably be handed the crappiest role in the world in the crappiest script, and make it seem like the best thing ever.

I anticipate that he will. nod One of my favorite actors of all time. I can't wait to see him in this role though. He always tends to throw some comedy relief into his roles and I know in some scenes he'll have me rolling. popcorn

It sounds authorized with Spector's consent, because Lana Clarkson's family's angry that it's being made.

HBO movies are pretty good most of the time.

This is going to pass Pacino's over the top performance in "Devil's Advocate" pretty easily, and maybe right under "Scarface". The Ramones, Leonard Cohen, and others have said plenty about him. Ronnie Spector's book has been out for a long time. I'm sure Pacino and Spector have had mutual friends over the years.

armpit - he was in Gigli, but it was towards the end. Real easy to forget he was in it.
