Killer basslines from Joe Osborn throughout their catalog. The 'singles' cd is also available on SACD. If you have a compatible player, get it...

Such a talented yet tragic duo. Karen had one of the best vocal tones ever! We'll always have their timeless music. There's a plenty of "so-called singers" today that could rip a page or two from her book on singing. It wasn't ever about volume or great melisma for her. She always interpreted the song's emotion well.

Okay you need to stop...lol because now you're really bringing back some memories. The thing with "Rainy Days and Mondays", Karen was on point with that one. For me, for some reason, when I listened to that song as I got older and started working, Mondays sometimes made me feel like I could use another day after "a nice relaxing vacation or weekend" and not really feeling like I wanted to be back at work on the first day of the work week, so "Monday Blues" would set in. Now rainy days tend to put some people in "blue moods" and for me, rainy days and Mondays, really used to put me in that kind of a mood, not so much now though. I used to call Mondays, "Blah" day. lol I guess for me, Karen was right on target with those lyrics.

I LOVE The Carpenters! Her solo album wasnt bad either, for the time. She had one of the purest voices ever. Their version of ticket to Ride is one of my favorite songs.

Richard has said that I Need To Be In Love was Karens favourite song they'd done.

This is amazing and she looks so happy behind the drumkit.

I love 'we've only just begun' but I think it's sad that she couldn't be saved from anorexia.
