How funny is this, I have a summe compilation CD that I made in my car right now, and it has "Hey Leroy" on it.

Thanks for the thread!

Yes, the Jimmy Castor Bunch had lots of jams. My two favorites are "Bertha Butt Boogie" and "King Kong".

I don't know why he doesn't get the same credit for his work as George gets for P/Funk , this guy had some great songs. I need to refresh my collection his more of The Jimmy Castor Bunch, my butt needs to boogie.

Hey Bella wave Good to see you around here. For some reason, last week this song popped up in my head, and I was trying to remember who made this song, and looked it up, and saw all the other treasures from Jimmy Castor and had to post. It seems he's still performing, but with diifferent band members, but he still has it going on. Ahhh...the days of real music, real intruments....biggrin

I know! I agree, such good music. I love his song "Potential". Jimmy made some good music, true treasures and classics! He mixed so many nice flavors in his music.I just had to do a thread on it.

I like a song called Bom Bom, but it's not on Youtube. Other than that and It's Just Begun, I haven't heard his other stuff much.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Not sure if I remember that one, but if you come across a vid or link, let me know.

Totally agree. That's what I loved about those bands back in the 70s. You got to "feel" the flow of the instruments. I also agree it's a great summer soundtrack.
