OMG, Andy, I really want those 4 minutes back it took me to look at that video, LOL! But, I was laughing the whole time because I was like, "Wow, this idiot (soulja boy) made millions off this repetitive, tone deaf, non-sense. Life truly ain't fair and this video proves it!" I actually think the minimalist beat of the song and the steel drum is pretty cool but it's the so-called lyrics and the stale delivery that just make this song atrocious!

For some reaso when I first read the title of this thread and saw the video clip start, I thought there was going to be a nightclub shooting or something, which is so common these days. That's the main reason I avoid nightclubs now is because people start drama with each other on the internet and then they settle the score at clubs. No thanks, I can't pay $15 cover, $8 drinks and then have enough money to save up for the bullet-proof vest I'd need to wear on any given night out on the town at the night club! LOL!

Oh, there's plenty of shootings out there. Even back in the early to mid 1990s when I was going out there. The drag queens used to hook on the corners up the street. They'd rip their tricks off by getting the money and not sucking the dick and would jump out of the cars and run inside the club. Of course, the tricks would be circling around the block waiting to retaliate and try to shoot them in the parking lot when they finally came outside.

The gang boys used to circle the club in cars looking to start some mess. Damn near every one of them was rough trade and was fooling around and getting their dick sucked in secret by various gay guys, 90% of the time by drag queens, but of course, they think they're "straight" so a night of gay bashing was their idea of fun.

Then whenever there would be a shit hop concert up the street at the coliseum, after the concert, the fools would come down and drive by and throw bottles and try to run people over crossing the street or in the parking lot. I came out of the club one night and was getting ready to cross the street and some girl sitting in a car at the red light asked me for a light. As I walked closer to the car, there was a guy in the back seat and I could see he had a gas can and I turned around and went back inside.

Before I started going out, I've heard stories of passing cars shooting multiple shots through the windows at the entrance. I've had people to tell me that back in the 1980s, they used to drive by and shoot up the club so much that they used to turn the lights on and the music off and lock people inside until the shooting stopped. I know I came outside one night and some fool was standing on the bridge firing shots at people coming outside. That's about the closest call I've had.

But believe it or not, there have been very few incidents of rednecks driving around the club and bashing. I've never seen them drive around the white club and have heard very few incidents of gay bashers around the white club before I went out. For one thing, I don't think they even know where the gay clubs are. They'll bash the hell out of a gay person but it's usually when they see them out somewhere in the straight world. All these incidents have been from blacks in their 20s that are all into shit hop big time. That shit blares from those cars as they circle. And the reason they know where the club is, is because most of them fool around (rough trade) and then come back down another time with their supposed straight friends to bash. I haven't heard on many incidents of the bashers circling in years though. Of course, that club is on it's last legs though. In the past few years, it has closed several times, only to reopen again.

A few years ago, my then-girlfriend actually took me to an all black club in Monroe, Louisiana. And that club was playing the same damn Soulja Boy-inspired music.

After about 20 minutes of that crap, I've successful convince her to take us to a racially mix club (owned by white folks). That place was an improvement, since the DJ played a good mix of 70's, 80's, 90's, & 2000's music. Granted, a few shit-hop were played here and there. But at least it was "good shit-hop" by Snoop Dogg, The Hot Boyz, & Master P/No Limit All-Stars and not freaking wack ass Soulja Boy!

I used to live in Key West around 1980-82. The clubs, straight and gay, were bangin' back then. They had the most beautiful men to dance with all night long in the gay discos, cause back then the clubs didn't close down until 4 a.m. in the morning!
