Press release:

Hidden Beach Recordings is set to release their first volume of vault material titled Hidden Beach Presents: The Original Jill Scott From The Vault Vol. 1 on August 30, 2011. This highly anticipated project will be available in both Standard and Deluxe Editions and continues the Hidden Beach legacy of releasing music with "A Sound... A Style... and A State of Mind."

It will include music from various recording sessions that were intentionally held for future releases including songs slated for what was to be Jill's 4^th studio Hidden Beach release.

It will be released in two versions with different distinct packaging. A Standard 11-track Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition, sure to be a fan favorite, will include special silver foil packaging, two live bonus tracks and a 20-page booklet with full lyrics and producer notes.

Jill Scott deserves better album art. She sings like an angel and this cover looks like it belongs on a low-budget worship album.

Hence the title From The Vault its a old pic from the Vault also from the first project

They're probably hoping to capitalize on her current tour and new CD publicity to move this. Since she's no longer on the label there probably won't be any videos or promotion. Still it's Jill Scott so people are going to buy it regardless!

It's classy and retro, right down to her frames. I like it.

How badly did she lose? From the Vault VOLUME ONE

She won her release from Hidden Beach but in the settlement they have the right to release some vault material. She's free and her new album is really good

In other words, she owed them albums and lost her court case and settled by agreeing to give them unreleased material.

I don't think it's necessarily losing. She was able to leave and release her new album. Had she lost- it would have been a situation like George Michael had with Sony back in 90s.

I'm more surprised and happy with how well the outcome of this lawsuit turned out for both parites.

Yeah, I was really disappointed about that. I listened to the samples on amazon the other day and I'm not that crazy about this one. Nothing really catches my attention. I'll wait a few months and pick it up for a couple of bucks used on the net.
