Nik Kershaw w/ Vinnie Colaiuta and Seawind Horns - "Don't Ask Me"

Nik Kershaw was another one of those musicians who got caught in the whole 'Image" marketing quagmire in the 80's - he was origianally marketed to the screaming girls...so his serious attempts at making intelligent pop got lost. His albums included world class drummers like Jeff Porcaro, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Simon Phillips , Level 42 Bassist Mark King, and horn players like Jerry Hey, Kim Hutchcroft and Larry Williams ....and his guiding lights were closer to Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder and Peter Gabriel, rather than the chart Pop of the day....still Pop, but with much more going on under the surface than the standard fare....
