There was a lot of stuff that used to get played on R&B radio that you probably wouldn't expect.

Paul Simon ~ Slip Sliding Away

Romantics ~ Talking In Your Sleep

Pet Shop Boys ~ West End Girls

Falco ~ Rock Me Amedeus

Kenny Rogers ~ Lady

Player ~ Baby Come Back

Bee Gees late 70's music

Steve Miller Band ~ Fly Like An Eagle

The Eagles ~ Hotel California, Witchy Woman, I Can't Tell You Why

David Bowie ~ Fame, Blue Jean

Morris Albert ~ Feelings

Kenny G

Murray Head ~ One Night In Bangkok

Duran Duran ~ The Reflex (remix), Notorious

Sheena Easton ~ Strut

Rod Stewart ~ Do Ya Think I'm Sexy

Paul McCartney ~ Goodnight Tonight, Silly Love Songs, Wonderful Christmastime, Coming Up (live version)

Video Soul also used to show videos of acts they wouldn't today.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I prefer the version sung by Jenna and her mom on 30 Rock.

I can't remember the peak position, but they did chart that song on the Billboard R&B Singles chart.

"Love Will Keep Us Together" is actually one of the first songs I remember hearing as a kid.

If Wiki is to be believed, it hit No. 58 on the R&B chart.
