Really? That's strange, because aaliyahcashmere89, with her wealth of unknown experience, said that Amy could have beaten her addictions "if she'd wanted to" especially as she had a "strong fan base" and, therefore, basically it serves her right! eek Seriously, read her posts!

Something tells me you, as a health professional, might offer a different opinion?

How do you know I have no experience with drug addictions? I grew up in the 80's and watched crack take over half of my family. Some of them lived and some of them died. The ones who lived got help. The ones who died choose to be in the streets. I never wrote the her ''strong fan base'' would help her beat addiction YOU wrote that. I never wrote she deserved to die. YOU wrote that. Many people have overcome drug addiction. I've SEEN it with my own eyes. She did drugs and she died from them. It's a sad thing but thats what happens when you don't seek help/want help.

Do you have any vices? You know they're not good for you, but it's like you're helpless.

I just can't criticize Amy Winehouse. I think she did seek help. Hell, I sought help, and I still gained those 12 pounds back.

I just don't think it's easy...

I wish the people talking shit in this thread would realize that what they're doing is tantamount to pissing on someone's grave. Sure, she wasn't perfect, but neither are you. Would you really like it if on announcement of your passing or the passing of someone close to you, people badmouthed them/you and picked over all your life choices?

I'm kind of disappointed in humanity right now. I expected more from you guys than what I'm seeing. You all ought to be ashamed. If you don't have anything decent to say, then the right and respectful thing to do is to stay mum and not comment here.

I thought I was going to have to be respectful and silent when madonna kicks the bucket, but after watching this thread fuck that Im going to make fans cry on that glorious day.

Can't believe some people want to debate if her death was of a drug overdose? Who would ever think that Amy Stans were this blind?

You have stated your views more than once, more than twice, more than three times, even. We completely get it, we hear you.

At this point it'd be great to just take the thread back onto the actual topic, which is Amy Winehouse and remembering her. Thanks.

If people respond to me, I'm going to respond back. You don't like it. That's your problem

I agree.

You don't have to like her, or anything else but please show some respect. It's horrible for her family and friends, and her fans.

We really lost a great talented woman, who just got huge problems with herself, she didn't had the control anymore on her mind and body.

I personally never said I didn't like her. I was one of the few that was wishing for a recovery and comeback. This is why I felt that way. Truth is something everyone needs, even when someone is at a low point. Lies and that "feeling sorry" syndrome sometimes makes a situation worse. Overall, it's sad that it came down to this day, where she has departed from us.

I feel that both lies and the truth are not needed sometimes and can make thngs worse.

Would you say what you feel, even though it's not the most polite, in order to show you're honest?Knowing that the comment doesn't do any good? Or do you think it's better to not say anything about it. Sometimes it's better to hold off on how you feel because it could hurt someone else. I'm not saying you have to be fake or lie. Being honest is no excuse for being mean.

Yes, truth hurts as well. But I, personally, wasn't being mean about the tradegy that has just taken place with Amy. I feel as though Amy was in battle with herself and even though substance abuse is a hard thing to kick, it is certainly a choice that impacts one's life. I loved and deeply admired Amy's talent and music, but like I said previously in this thread, I tried to distance myself from Amy's personal battles while she was with us. I wasn't her biggest fan, but it was something that I couldn't fathom from her and the downright evils of the media. That wasn't the most important thing about her, but it was certainly the saddest part of her. She just didn't see where this would lead her.

I understand the complexities of drug abuse and recovery. I personally have known family members and friends who have abused drugs and have tried to stay clean, but addiction is a choice. Whether you want to believe it or not. It is the destruction of many people and it leads to bad health. I'm not implying that this is what killed Amy, but this is something that concerns me in the culture we live in today. We don't think about battles and the evil parts of life, until a person departs from us. We can make jokes and sugarcoat it, but when you get right down to it: this is reality. This is the truth I'm talking about!

As for Amy, I'm glad that she lived life and her body of work spoke to many of us. She is certainly in a better place now. R.I.P. Amy

I know - its sad. I've tried to get her to see it from a more "human" and compassionate viewpoint, but she just flat refuses. Its reprehensible that people will judge at all, but particularly when its based on misconception. The tragedy is that we've lost a human life and one who had a great gift to share - its not about the manner of her death or what your prejudiced beliefs force you to say. Its entirely irrelevant. Just let people mourn her, ffs and keep your unsavoury views to yourself!

Fortunately, there have been some wonderful tributes from those that knew her and others in the music world - she is a substantial loss.

I'm not a fan, not familiar with her work and I'm not trying to preach but it's just mystifying and sad to me. To me, she's just a kid, very young girl, I know women her age and younger and it makes me think of them. It's just sad, we don't have everything figured out at that age but still, we've seen enough people die from drugs to know that it's nothing to toy with. I am a musician, I am a native american too, seen plenty of alcoholism and drug use and have been offered and encouraged to mess with the stuff, I just don't do it. I don't have lots of patience with people who do either, when a family member keeps going to a hospital over stupid shit and worrying you half to death, you do get tired of it after awhile. Nowadays, I just don't even tolerate it around me and don't apologize for it, left jobs because of the drugs and alcohol around and the way it made people act. It's not like we don't know what we're dealing with, drugs and alcohol is nothing but trouble. Like stevie wonder said, taking drugs is like sucking the devil's dick.

People do this all the time, and they did it 10 times worse when Michael Jackson died.. people are sick, they get pleasure out of annoying and upsetting people, and they're not gonna stop. You need to just report whoever and hope the mods have sense enough to ban them. As anyone will tell you, trolls it only encourages them..

For all those sad at the death of Amy Winehouse, or the poor people in Norway and the horn of Africa, I think this song sort of sums up what life taken too soon means.

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors
Oh, and life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even gray, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

And I'll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom
I'm as green as the ring on my little cold finger
I've never known the loving of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand

There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singing
Funny, when you're dead how people start listening

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The ballad of a dove
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket
Save them for a time when you're really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time
So put on your best, boys
And I'll wear my pearls

pray rose dove typing
