70's throwback...The Ohio Players

This song has been in my head for most of the day (aside from Bobby Womack and Mint Condition):

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

cool

Takin it back. This was unfortunately their last top 10 hit.

It's amazing how quick their hits dried up all before 1980.

Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Sadly,by the end of the 70s,their hardcore funk sound was becoming obsolete. That's why so many of these bands (Kool & The Gang,EW&F,The Commodores,Bar Kays, etc) were changing their sound as the 80s approached. Some would even say that these bands were "selling out" when in reality, they were doing what they had to do to survive. They didn't wanna wind up like the Ohio Players.
