Faith Appreciation!

So as many of you know, I am a youngin who didn't get to experience the music of the 80's and the glory days of my favourite stars. So, naturally, my image of George Michael was one of an old gay man who had several hits in the 80's but was never big. Just recently I discovered his 1987 album Faith. WOW! Is this a masterpiece or what? From the playful rock of Faith, to the sensuality of Father Figure, to the funkiness of tracks like I Want Your Sex (Rhythm 1: Lust and Rhythm 2: Brass In Love) and Hard Day. I can't get enough of it (especially I Want Your Sex). Anyone feeling it as much as I do?

Any memories from that time period too?

Yeah I think Father Figure was and is his best from that particular era. I also like "Amazing" from his 2004 album (too lazy to Google the name of it now). George Michael can really sing and I hope he manages to stay relevant for longer. He could be the next "gay legend/icon" like Elton John is I suppose.

George Michael already is an icon/legend, I think - in general, not demographic-specific.

I've always really loved the "Faith" disc and have a lot of memories of it because when I was a kid (80s baby, here), my dad loved the disc and played it constantly. I joined a cd club like five years ago, and when I started ordering discs, one of the first ones I sent away for, was "Faith". It's one of those discs that even if you were to lose it, you'd just turn around and buy a new one.

From as far as I can remember, Faith has been the song my parents played the most during my early years, so it is very special to me, I just love it! I sometimes get the feeling it's the only song I've ever heard in my childhood, along with we are the world!

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

A funk/pop/rockMasterpiece!

George made one of the biggest albums of all time here, and every song is fantastic. Hand To Mouth is my fav on the album, it's the darkest track and showed what's to come with Listen Without Prejudice.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

It's a fantastic album... almost as good as Listen Without Prejudice.

When "Look at Your Hands" gets stuck in my head, it really gets stuck.

was never big?

eek

1983-1991 would strongly disagree.

The man was part of one of the the, if not the biggest boy band of the 1980s and Faith was of the best selling albums of all time

One of my faves from the 80's. One of my faves period. Although I liked some of the Wham stuff, I became a believer in his talent after this release. I had nothing but respect for him ever since. cool

She needs to switch her style up alittle. I always liked her but she needs something fresh and new. I wish her and Lil Kim would put the BS to the side and do a song together. That would be comeback everyone would want to see
