Dear Orgers, thank u so much for posting your Heros here! This is very much appreciated.

My main intention with this thread is to push your focus on some of those multi-talented, but sadly overlooked, independant artists. Their are doing a great job apart from that overpolished, commercialized output of the Majors. And often their doing this just for the record, releasing their

art for free or just a few dollars .... I am very thankfull to them, because they keep my funk alive througout the year and it reminds me of what music should be really about: HAVING FUN AND SHARING YOUR FEELINGS WITH OTHERS! Not counting money .... Sadly THE WEIRD ONE has totally lost this vibe ... But maybe one day he will come back to us Downloading-Earthlings, hopefully not

before the digital age has totally disappeared, remembering that there is sth else but Dollars.

Independent Artist of the day:

JDAVEY - MISS JACK DAVEY

Very new soulful & funky Album - get it!

Thanks for the reference. But before I sign-up, is the CD quality you're speaking of Lossless files in FLAC, WAV, WMA, or APE, or some other format?

It's one of the latest scoops by the Daptone family, the house label behind Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. Tommy Brenneck, lead guitarist with the Dap-Kings, started his own band a few years ago, called the Menahan Street Band. He also launched his own label called Dunham Records, which is a subsidiary of Daptone. Charles Bradley was discovered by Daptone five or six years ago and cut a few sides with the Dap-Kings before starting to work with the Menahan Street Band (which consists of many members of the Dap-Kings.) The album was recorded at Tommy's home studio in Brooklyn.

Last week, Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones played the Hollywood Bowl with Stevie Wonder .. Both Sharon and Charles are high in demand these days and are bringing real Soul music back .. not like the 99% fake BS that's out there these days ..

THAT's news I can use. Most download only music (IMO) is usually of lousy quality.
