Sadly,by the end of the 70s,their hardcore funk sound was becoming obsolete.That's why so many of these bands (Kool & The Gang,EW&F,The Commodores,Bar Kays,etc) were changing their sound as the 80s approached.Some would even say that these bands were "selling out" when in reality,they were doing what they had to do to survive.They didn't wanna wind up like the Ohio Players. | |
