I miss the 90's

I have a soft spot for this decade, I was so young back then, easy life, good movies, good music...

grunge, modern metal, acid house, rave, late-new jack swing, rap, hip/hop, well crafted pop, brit-pop, techno, trip-hop, industrial, jungle, R&B, drum&bass, acid jazz, good one hit wonders, etc.

last great era of music?

where are my fellow 90's lovers? grouphug

me too man, me too. I can imagine myself as a grandpa (if I'm still alive) in 2065 and sayin' "the 90's man, the 90's, what a decade" lol and scaring the young people off, lol

It will be, forever, the decade that kick-started my life, it sounds corny I know lol giggle

I mean, I have some memories of 88-89 but I was just a child

The 80's is my favourite decade and I call myself an 80's kid despite being born then and having memories from an early age, but I was a child and teenager in the 90's so I really miss it too in retrospect, though it's full of recycling too. But it's also full of talent, fun, creativity, diversity, excitement, passion, you name it.

I really love the 90's too. It was the last time there was artistic music that also was commercially successful in the charts. Now there is such a separation between quality music and chart music.

I loved the alternative rock/grunge, female singer songwriters like Tori Amos and Fiona Apple, trip hop and my favorite Madonna record Ray of Light is from the 90's.

90's nostalgia is having a big comeback. A lot of younger musicians are really influenced by the 90's sound. The band Yuck from the Uk is really influenced by 90's groups like Dinosaur, Jr and Superchunk. They are one of my favorite new bands.

I like a lot of 80's music but the 80's thing has been overhyped by the media that I'm getting tired of it. It has been so over commercialized and cheapened with all those 80's nostalgia tours like the here and now tour and the Regeneration tour. It's time to give the 90's a chance.

Not to mention the postings in here dissing the '90s but bigging up the '80s but now that I think about it, most of the postings of '80s music are from those who LIVED it. lol

That's because u were a child of the 90s. Having seen both of them, the 80s were more exciting for sure.

same here!

I miss Power Rangers, Barney, Rug Rats, All that, Saved by the Bell, Family matters, Full House, TGIF on ABC

spice girls, brandy, 90s janet and mariah, whitney houston, early britney spears, TLC, Puff Daddy, lol I miss the music.

The 90s was about the family, and a lot of great kids movies were made during this time. There were so many shows for the kids and family on tv.

I hate 2003 and beyond. Most of The tv shows are just one dimensional, every family show is drama and some sex crazed teen whose a warewolf. When i watch the disney channel its so disappointing, I remember they would have Mickey Mouse club and all kinds of cute shows on back then. And Nickelodeon only plays sponge bob gay pants EVERY DAY ALL DAY. Nick cannon really should be embarrassed to be some president or chairman of Nickelodeon. THE CHANNEL SUCKS NOW.

The reason why I watch reality more then regular script/written shows is because the story lines are wack and over dramatized with bad acting and bad writers. Not to mention EVERYTHING is so dark/SINISTER. i miss the fun/light/laid back family feel of the 90s.

And don't let me get started on the Glee Show. I can't believe anyone watches that lol

Eh, there was an awful lot of crap in the '90s too. Every time you turned around there was some whiny chick with an acoustic guitar or some terrible Nirvana wannabe grunge band. For me the '90s were like every other decade. There was a small percentage of great music and an absolute avalanche of garbage.

I will say that it was probably the last decade where there were some strongly defined musical movements. Maybe we are too close to the '00s and it is just hard to see it but that whole decade seemed to lack vatiety. What were the five-ten defining musical genres/movements of the last decade?

hmmm

shit-hop

shit-dance

modern R&B

modern rock (just a continuation of 90's rock, really)

"comebacks"

nu-metal (which started in the late-90's anyway...)

nod that movie was ruined by the slow/uneven pacing, Robin Williams being high on crack and the forced jokes... neutral

Little Mermaid is still my fav 90s Dinsey movie, lol. I know it's a 89 film but the VHS appeared in 1990, lol Ariel used to turn me on soooooo bad, and she still does, to some extent lol
