That rehearsal footage must be awesome. George's son Dhani's reaction to Prince falling backward while playing his solo was priceless. I think that part of the evening may have been unexpected for some of the players. The Red swag Prince was rolling with was exciting. I haven't enjoyed Prince that much in years.

I can't find the video where Patti is purposely outsinging and oversinging Celia who was weak and dying from cancer at the time (she died a few months after this actually). But this performance captures some of her antics and she did pretty much the same thing when she got next to Celia in the all-star tribute.

Here, Patti ain't singing no lyrics, mispronouncing the title of the song, screeching over Gloria as she is singing actual lyrics, telling Gloria where to go when clearly the camera was not supposed to go there, in general, making it about herself rather than paying tribute to a dying legend. If she was not gonna learn the song and sing a verse why is she even up there? Or is it just for camera time?

This is another one that bugged me cuz Patti just hollering indescriminately for no reason and out of tune.
