Wham!- Freedom Music Video I have never seen this video till today!, i didn't know at the time no western music was allowed in China. So this tour and music video are a pretty big thing! even a little bit historic in music history.
This along with Heartbeat & Careless Whisper are my favorites on Make It Big Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

One of those songs I could never skip. It rivals "Everything She Wants" as my favorite Wham! song. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Whoa there cowboy slow down. I wouldn't go that far but it is a good song, no doubt. So funny this thread popped up. I just downloaded a Wham compilation 2 days ago. They had some great songs! Wham! Rap is the bomb as well as Bad Boys and Battlestations. Everything she wants is a timeless masterpiece.

I have to agree with AlexdeParis Freedom does rival Everything She Wants IMO any who
The whole sound, and chorus just give me this feeling, i love it!!
But then extended version of Everything She Wants A.K.A the music video version is bomb
Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I know those songs are mad campy but they are funky too! Did Andrew Ridgely ever sing 1 note on any Wham! songs? No wonder George Michael went solo. He practically was anyway.

So they got no Thriller mania and got George and Andrew? I guess that's why they love Bad and onwards
And I've loved this song and video so much since I was a little baby, every time I hear it, I still get chills cause it takes me back to innocent times. But when I listen to it now, I hear a Supremes influence to it with 80's keyboards, of course I wouldn't have known that as a kid, but now I hear it.

That song is pure sex! | |

Thriller mania still lives on to this day. People will compare anyone to Michael even a heavy metal thrash band. So i think this cool Wham! got to do something like this
Wham! at first may seem cheesy, but they actually are very soulful. And have some fantastic tracks and like you i noticed The Supremes influence in Freedom Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Wham was NEVER, EVER cheesy to me. I don't remember a time I didn't know who MJ or Wham were. I was an 83' baby and had my parents tapes full of the videos from those times, so I got really lucky and watched them for years. I love the Make It Big album....and you know what else? I loved Faith when it came out cause it was always on the radio, but I didn't know who it was and didn't realize it was the same guy from Wham until later on someone had to tell me his name is George Michael and he grew a goatee LMAO!
And yes, I compare Michael to everyone too without even thinking about it. From young singers to r&b divas to those doing hard songs or ballads, you name it. Even the song structures or harmonies or layering of vocals and when I do write, I'm very inspired by him and Janet as well and with music all around the world, some of which I really love, same deal, all love mike. He's truly a gem and I miss him so much :*(
but back to Wham, they are totally soulful, I never understood why people brushed them off, I never heard of that until I saw comments online in fact.

"Freedom" was real cool but I wouldn't compare it to "Everything She Wants".

Fine it's your opinion, but to me it is better yeah i said it ahahahah
But Edge of Heaven & Heartbeat will still always be my top 2 Wham! songs Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Anyways... I loved that George put the music to this on the beginning of "Faith". It was almost like a funeral of Wham! lmao

Oh yeah! i love that as well. Especially since at the time George was kind of so-so on his Wham! day's Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

He was the guitarist, not a background singer. Pepsi & Shirley were the backups. Deon Estus was the bassist. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Nah Andrew played guitar but he never sung background on a lot of Wham! songs. I think he sung background on "Everything She Wants" but that's it...then again I'm not so sure of that either. I think the main reason Andrew got on was he wanted to attract the girls and George did it to get famous, which is exactly what happened.

Well, they're very different types of songs, but they both do what they do exceedingly well. There aren't many songs that bring a smile to my face as quickly as "Freedom" does. It's just a blast of unbridled joy from the first note.
I kinda wish we could have a full-length version of the orchestral mix that plays before "Faith."

I feel ya but yeah that would be cool about the orchestral mix.
