There is a HUGE market for a story like this right now. Look for something from me by the end of the year. TRUST.

New Edition have been talking about a movie since the 1990's. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yeah I truly hope that New Edition film happens.
ONE film I CAN'T see coming out at all is one on the Supremes. One side is biased, another side is pretty much neutral, and another side ain't around because she's been dead 35 years. (I don't trust her sister but her cousin was real cool on Unsung).
I could see one on Diana solo though... she's had an interesting life, if only she can tell it all. Can't keep up the Motown facade forever.

Wouldn't other people have to give approval to be featured? Like Maurice Starr, Jam & Lewis, Stacy Lattisaw, Cynthia Horner, Dick Scott, Whitney Houston, Babyface, maybe NKOTB, etc. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

That's gonna be some hot ass mess.

Amen to that... i loved the scene where she kalled president Kennedy.
I`ve heard that rumor for years, i don`t think it will happen.

I want a movie that shows her as a real villain, although i LOVE and worship her.
Not sure if she acts, but i remember this girl from the second season of America`s next top model, if she can act she would be great, she`s got the attitude and beauty.

The Supremes film will most likely make her "a villain" just like they made Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin villains on The Temptations film.

Yeah, I was thinking in terms of one of those sleazy TV biopics. If ever a real movie was made, it would have to be from her own autobiography. "Get up off that grey line"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Exactly and knowing how protective Janet is, she won't even let a THOUGHT of a sleazy biopic to be PUT OUT! That's why they ain't fucked with her yet like they tried with Madonna.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
if we ever get a Diana Ross biopic,I hope it includes those bitter, explosive fights that Diana and Berry Gordy had such as the heated tension on the 'Mohagany' movie set, where Diana reportedly slapped Berry during one such argument.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
somewhat yes. but IONT give care bout all that lol
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Probably someone that's been around for a good while that actually has some musical significance worth writing about. "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
YESSIR! I want Berry to be the villain in that one too.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Then Ronnie DeVoe's cousin Brooke Payne will want his cut. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Johnny Otis (born John Alexander Veliotes; December 28, 1921, Vallejo, Ca., is an American blues, and rhythm and blues pianist, composter, vibraphonist, drummer, singer, bandleader and impresario. see: http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related
Otis really influenced the 1960's African American Music. Otis, the son of Alex J. Veliotes, a grocery store owner and his wife, the former Irene Kiskakes, is the child of Greek immigrants. He is the older brother of Nicholas Veliotes, former U.S. Ambassador to Jordan (1978–1981) and to Egypt (1984–1986). Otis is well-known for his choice to live his professional and personal life as a member of the African-American community. He has written, "As a kid I decided that if our society dictated that one had to be black or white, I would be black." He is the father of musician Shuggie Otis.http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ohnny_Otis One of many of Johnny Otis's RB hits was "Hand Jive" For all you newbies, it was a huge dance song of the early 1960's. I hope you get a chance to check him out. He also did drums on the original recording of the song "Hound Dog." The one made famous by Big Mama Thornton, prior to Elvis Presley's release. A johnny otis biopic would not be layden with a depressing drug scenario.
I'd like to see Johnny Depp play this man. JD, has musical talent. I think he could pull it off.
(someone tweet Johnny )

I would luv to see a movie about La Toya, Janet, and Rebbie. The girl version of American Dreams. And Christina Milan could play Janet, Kerry washington could play Rebbie, and Bianca Lawson could play La Toya
