New Edition have been talking about a movie since the 1990's. lol

Yeah I truly hope that New Edition film happens.

ONE film I CAN'T see coming out at all is one on the Supremes. One side is biased, another side is pretty much neutral, and another side ain't around because she's been dead 35 years. (I don't trust her sister but her cousin was real cool on Unsung).

I could see one on Diana solo though... she's had an interesting life, if only she can tell it all. Can't keep up the Motown facade forever.

Another one I can't see: Berry Gordy, or worse, Smokey Robinson. lol

Wouldn't other people have to give approval to be featured? Like Maurice Starr, Jam & Lewis, Stacy Lattisaw, Cynthia Horner, Dick Scott, Whitney Houston, Babyface, maybe NKOTB, etc.

The biopic of my dreams came true a few years back when Judy Davis played Judy Garland in "Me and My Shadow: Life With Judy Garland" - from the book written by Garland's daughter, Lorna Luft. It deserved all of the awards it received that year!

Now, the rumor is that Anne Hathaway is set to play Garland. I'm just not sure how I feel about that one... confused

Amen to that... i loved the scene where she kalled president Kennedy.

I`ve heard that rumor for years, i don`t think it will happen.

I want a movie that shows her as a real villain, although i LOVE and worship her.

Not sure if she acts, but i remember this girl from the second season of America`s next top model, if she can act she would be great, she`s got the attitude and beauty.

The Supremes film will most likely make her "a villain" just like they made Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin villains on The Temptations film.

There needs to be one based on this. The book is HIGHLY exploitative and fabricated (as are most unauthorized bios), but it would make one helluva TV movie.

2 different covers

As for who would play Janet, Keshia Knight Pulliam has always said that she wanted to play her

A quote from Keshia from a couple of years ago: “My dream role is to play Janet Jackson, if she ever does her life story while I’m still alive – and I’m young enough to play her.”

Gabrielle Union is a big fan, but there's not much of a resemblance

Ciara has the dancing skills, but is too tall and lanky

Kat Graham from The Vampire Diaries remade "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" and "Escapade" earlier this year

Bianca Lawson may be a good choice

I can't see anyone doing a movie based off an unauthorized bio, least not on the big screen (remember the TV movie on Madonna that was based on an unauthorized bio? lol). Maybe after Janet finally does touch on life issues in her official bio THEN we can talk about a movie about her life but I can't see that happening. Private as she is lol

lol Yeah, I was thinking in terms of one of those sleazy TV biopics. If ever a real movie was made, it would have to be from her own autobiography.

Exactly and knowing how protective Janet is, she won't even let a THOUGHT of a sleazy biopic to be PUT OUT! lol That's why they ain't fucked with her yet like they tried with Madonna. lol

if we ever get a Diana Ross biopic,I hope it includes those bitter, explosive fights that Diana and Berry Gordy had lol such as the heated tension on the 'Mohagany' movie set, where Diana reportedly slapped Berry during one such argument.

Probably someone that's been around for a good while that actually has some musical significance worth writing about.
Also, whose life contained extremely interesting aspects that contributed to (or an adjunct to) the music they created.

An example of what i'm referring to is Jimmy Scott's...

...If You Only Knew

The above might be categorized as an auto-biopic (my preference) since the actual subject is alive and involved.

I guess what i'm getting at is something with actual substance as opposed to TMZ-type foolishness.

That being said, a few that would appeal to me:
Sun Ra
Miles Davis
John Coltrane
Frank Zappa

Music for adventurous listeners

peace Tribal Records

Johnny Otis (born John Alexander Veliotes; December 28, 1921, Vallejo, Ca., is an American blues, and rhythm and blues pianist, composter, vibraphonist, drummer, singer, bandleader and impresario.

see: http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

Otis really influenced the 1960's African American Music.

Otis, the son of Alex J. Veliotes, a grocery store owner and his wife, the former Irene Kiskakes, is the child of Greek immigrants. He is the older brother of Nicholas Veliotes, former U.S. Ambassador to Jordan (1978–1981) and to Egypt (1984–1986).

Otis is well-known for his choice to live his professional and personal life as a member of the African-American community. He has written, "As a kid I decided that if our society dictated that one had to be black or white, I would be black." He is the father of musician Shuggie Otis.http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ohnny_Otis

One of many of Johnny Otis's RB hits was "Hand Jive" For all you newbies, it was a huge dance song of the early 1960's. I hope you get a chance to check him out. He also did drums on the original recording of the song "Hound Dog." The one made famous by Big Mama Thornton, prior to Elvis Presley's release.

A johnny otis biopic would not be layden with a depressing drug scenario.

I'd like to see Johnny Depp play this man. JD, has musical talent. I think he could pull it off.

(someone tweet Johnny cool )
