I have listened to her albums, Fame Monster & BTW are pretty good. but nothing brilliant and i have kind of gotten off the GaGa train. I Think she is talented but her piano skills are not amazing like people make them out ot be, and her vocals are good but nothing stealer yes even the BTW accapella. But this is cause i was raised on Diamanda Galas, Nina Hagan, Aretha, Ingeborg Hallstein, Hazel Scott etc.

Women who can belt out almost operatic vocals, and Diamanda & Scott. Especially Diamanda who has operatic vocals and some of the fastest finger i have ever seen on piano, and some of the most soulful/creepy jams. So GaGa to me is nothing special.

And no one get offended by that it's just my opinion. Don't come attacking me telling me how amazing she is, i don't think she is and that's just my feelings hug

Lady GaGa Plaque Lady GaGa Addresses Commercially Unsuccessful Rivals

She is one of the only artists who has been able to score high sales figures despite being in the era of ’song leaks’ and illegal downloading.

Now, Lady GaGa has given her thoughts on what she feels is the real reason some artists struggle to shift commendable units.

Check out what she had to say below…

On artists who blame piracy for low sales figures, she says:

“I believe it is whole heartedly the obligation of the artist to create a wonderful album that speaks to that generation through the digital era and through the challenges that we’ve been put up against.”

Going onto reveal:

“People that blame things on piracy and blame things on music being stolen- this is just an excuse. It’s an excuse for artists not creating through all of that.”

Whilst many a fan of ‘insert name commercially unsuccesful artist here’ may be rattled by these comments, Ms. Germanotta does have a valid point.

For she herself is an artist who has faced continous ‘leaks’ and ‘illegal downloading’ yet is still one of the highest selling artists in the world despite debuting just three years ago.

Even embarking on two record breaking tours in the space of two years whilst some of her contemporaries continue to serve as opening acts even after countless albums and support from well meaning fans.

She is just one artist in a long list of performers which include Beyonce, Drake, Adele, Kanye West ,Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears and Chris Brown who have managed to chart with impressive figures even when faced with the tiresome issue of music piracy.

Whilst some fan bases also choose to blame lack of label support for the shortcomings of their favourite artists, it is worth remembering that there is ultimately nothing a label can do if these fans know an artist has an LP out but choose not to buy it.

Perhaps GaGa’s comments will inspire the marketing managers of struggling artists to find new and inventive ways to persuade music lovers to invest in their artists.

For it is becoming increasingly obvious that it is the artists who embrace their fans the most, are the ones that have the most to smile about when the sales figures roll in

http://thatgrapejuice.net...more-40414

I thought she was she smart enough not to equate SALES with being a GREAT album, those two things do not go hand in hand, not all great albums SELL and it has NOTHING to do with downloading there is a way deeper issue here, thought she was more of an artist to understand that but she seems to be equating Sales with doing a good record. Ryan Adams has done 20 good albums and has one Gold record, so give me a break Lady GaGa, and the list i could run of SHIT albums that sell is just as long as Good ALbums that dont sell. She is speaking from a mentality of a corporate zombie that has sold because of a HUGE push and media driven event that she is. This is not slighting her in being somewhat talented but she is no where near artist stature to speak on eras and albums and sales and what artists should be creating.

I will however jump on the artists that BLAME labels for something not selling and then throw their own work under the bus and not stand by it, this goes for Ne-Yo and a host of other RB artists and Pop Artists that lately have felt the CHILL of reality and sales.

Even though I think it's a little too early too for her to come out and claim this, but she has a very valid point. In building your brand, it's important to build a rapport/relationship with your audience/customers/clients. This is how you gain a loyal fanbase. Technology today makes it even easier. Like, no matter what they will support you.

Then why hasn't she done that yet?

Maybe because you don't like her style of music perhaps?

And GuuGuGaaa is very overrated. I dunno why people making it seem like she is so "original" and groundbreaking when all she does is swaggerjacks the entire 80's era.. like seriously..

If you think her album is spetacular something is mentally wrong with you. Fine, it might be catchy but that doesnt mean it is groundbreaking or wonderful.

TBDH, I'm considering asking the mods to have a "Discuss Everything Lady Gaga Thread" as a full-time sticky. It's too often that some of these orgers has gone down that road with all of this pro VS. anti Gaga-ness.
