"James River," is being eyed for release before the end of the year through J Records ... but could move to early 2012 depending on when it is finally turned in.

How reassuring. lol

I love how you guys feel that artist have an obligation to deliver music when *you* want it. Give me a break. As a fan of artist like Kate Bush, Wendy and Lisa and Sade, I don't give a f*ck how often I get work, I just appreciate the work when I get it.

shrug

Well maybe if they stop opening their mouths talking about "yeah I am putting something in the works"..and then say the same thing years later....

We are just used to our favorite artist putting out at least one album out a 1-2 year span...even Michael put one out at least 6 year spread...D'Angelo damn near going on 11 years now...it's tired and old and we just want it to happen instead of braggin.

That's the crux of the issue for me.... put up and out or shut up. To Sade, credit I don't recall this sista having friends or "her people" doing continous press releases of what she doing or intends to do. Having others talk about what you're supposedly doing is about as significant as someone releasing a statetment that D'Angelo is picking in his nose.

If music didn't suck so bad nowadays, twenty-five / thirty-five years ago these long breaks some of these artist take now... they wouldn't have a career to comeback to.

"Most people use midnight as a time to sleep. others are working on their 11 year followup. this of course being hour number one," wrote the drummer.

Most people use midnight as a time to sleep, D'Angelo used a DECADE as a time to sleep!

I wonder if D showed up for "hour number one"? hmmm

Sade has a family, Maxwell wasn't constantly making press inquiries like that, and I don't even think Michael, Dre and Stevie have done what D'Angelo has done or even Lauryn Hill so they're more special cases and they've only released four albums between them. lol
