I just can't get into jazz at all.
I think I could actually become a country music fan before I could 'do' jazz, and that's saying ALOT. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Not a big fan of smooth jazz post-Bitches Brew. (Not saying Brew is "smooth," just smooth jazz in general after 1970 or so.) [Edited 7/4/11 12:07pm] "There is two kinds of music, the good, and the bad. I play the good kind."

Davis, Hancock. I tried to get into Sun-Ra years ago and it just sounded like a load of angry geese so I gave up, he has some nice melodic stuff too though of course.
I like Jazz Fusion stuff more really, Weather Report is the obvious one, I loved Tal Wikenfelds debut album too, she should do another.
