YEah, she had that strong voice that made her sound much older and muture.

I remember my Mother said how old she looked for her age back then. They tried to make her look older. They didn't emphasize on her age back then. It seems to me she would have been taken advantage of like a lot of child prodigy's.

The man that over heard her sing in the bathroom which I find suspicious. Why would she be singing in a bathroom cleaning at a recording studio/record label? She knew what she was doing. Her family I'm sure told her to do that so she can get discovered. That man seemed a little to close & interested in her. Makes me wonder what else was going on, that we don't know about. The music business was shady back then to. I'm sure it wasn't that easy for her to get that recording contract.HMMMM.

But overall I really enjoyed it. She has a very good pleasant personality. I wonder what she would have been doing now if she wasn't "discovered".

She was a baby...a newbie teenager who exploded on the scene! I'm glad she is doing so well in her personal life and I would love to see her perform in concert, given the ch ance.

I wish it was on tape My mom mentioned I would crazy when Michael's videos were on too when I was about 1 or 2, though the earliest I ever remember seeing him may have been at 2 and a half or 3 (I have a good memory though I think it got better just after 3) when a Jacksons video excited me and I was running around all hyper over it in public and crying over Thriller. When I saw the Beat It video again at 8, mom said I liked it when I was a baby, I thought for a minute and recognized the red jacket right away! and I had a Thriller toy too for years actually....but guess what, I didn't know all of Michael yet and was more of a Madonna fan though I thought he was cool if someone played him or if I was hooked on a song without knowing it's him, but when I rediscovered him in the 90's, I really went nuts for him way more than any other artist, along with Janet.

I'm talking about then. I'm still calling them my 2 favourites, but they are not all I listen to. None of the fans on the Jacksons site appreciate other r&b, dance, pop, funk, dance, electropop on their sites like this one here from many decades. I hope this answers your question.

Prince puts out good albums, and he puts out some really shitty ones too. I pick and choose my battles when it comes to Prince, but he's in my top 5 and I've loved and respected him since I was a baby too, thanks to Purple Rain tracks being played though I discovered more later.

if we are on the Music: Non-Prince section then its okay

its NON-PRINCE, and that means we talk about everything but prince.

Now if people who weren't fans and posting on the Prince Music section then you should have issues.

Im not a fan of prince, but i still respect that he can play instruments and produce his own music, and he produced some songs for other artists that I like and even including music for my Momma.

I enjoyed the Evelyn "Champagne" King episode. Had no idea she had a baby that died, sad...

On a positive note, I love how Kashif explained the recording process of "Love Come Down" and the way the distinctive back-up vocals were created.

and honestly i found out about this forum through google. I was searching something for MJ and Janet and this forum came up. I liked the discussion So I joined. This was one of the first forums that I joined online. So I will always feel like this is my forum home Non-music prince section. To be honest I really don't read the prince section or post there.

NOOOO I was born after Purple Rain PR introduced me to Prince, but I like the music before and after it better. Around the World in a Day is my favourite album of his, and I love his first two albums, and New Power Soul best.

That is gr8! That is why I never cared much for fans that joined after PR. But that statement is why. PR is not really his best work to me. It just was commercialized for him to cross over. I admire Prince, because after PR instead of capitalizing on the PR sound. He totally went into left field with ATWIAD & the albums released after that. U get props & pounds for that statement.

Darn it! I just missed winning tickets to see Evelyn Champagne King by one freaking phone call! Just my luck! They wanted caller 98 on the radio and I was caller 99! Arrrgghhh! I always miss winning something by that much! And I can't afford to spend anymore on concert tickets this year! Thank you, Prince! But Imma try again tomorrow! After all, "tomorrow's another day..."
