I heard the movie is only being shown in LA and NYC.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Documentaries generally don't get a lot of business, and the multiplex rarely carry them. They're mostly only shown at art film theaters. Tribe is probably not mainstream popular enough for a wide release. It's not like they're Miley Cyrus or Justin Beiber, where a lot of people will go to see a movie about them. It would cost the movie company more money to print up a lot of film reels for something that is unlikely to be seen by many people.

confused I kinda figured that this would be the case ...I read a good review on the documentary in Entertainment Weekly a few weeks back , but haven't heard anything since.......

I saw the movie last night at my local theater. It's excellent. Recommened of course to all fans of the group or just hip hop in general.

Maybe what Phife said about him in the film is correct.

There're a couple of posts I read from another board implying that the feud between him & Rapaport was calculated in order make some kind of a controversy to boast the film's viewing. I certainly hope its the case.

But Tip has been a known egomaniac, maybe he didn't like what the movie portrayed, the ones I know who went to watch this said Rapaport didn't pull any punches.

One thing for damn sure, I can't wait to see this. ATCQ is one of my fave rap groups ever and from the few things I've seen, it looks like this one is def a keeper.

I didn't know there was beef between Q-Tip and Rapaport over the movie.

But yes, the bad blood at the end is all there on the screen.

datdude

so what's the source of the beef between Rappaport & Tip? Is tip mad that he's showing him as he truly IS? Sad indeed if so. I was a HUGE Tribe fan and Midnight is STILL great driving music when I need a boost of energy! Wow, I kinda had Tip pegged as humble and down to earth. Tssk, tsk.
