Sade's 2011 Tour!!

Saw Sade in Cleveland last night and she.BROUGHT.IT! dancing jigboogiesexyfaint Words escape me (and y'all know that's rare).

Ticket prices are a bit steep (I actually managed discounted seats), but I've come across no one who's seen this show in any city so far who disagrees it is worth every penny. If there were zero music (and don't worry: there's a good 2 hour's worth ), the sheer art direction and visual production of her show is unforgettable.

GO SEE SADE'S SHOW... even if you have to forgo eating for a day or two! You won't be disappointed.

I'm so glad you posted your review of Sade's show and so glad you were blown away by it! I put off buying tickets for four months because I told myself I couldn't afford to go but then after watching videos of their concerts last week, I had to get a ticket because I was so moved by the band's performances that I couldn't miss the opportunity to see them; I may never have the chance again! Now I am so excited to go in August. I am glad that someone as hard to please as I am was so satisfied with the concert. Yeah, I will have to cut corners to pay for my club seat next to the stage but it will be worth it if the concert is everything people are saying it is! I certainly enjoyed the videos I have seen! biggrin music

I priced tickets way back in late winter/early spring for the June Toronto show. I thought the prices were obscene, and I figured I'd simply have to pass on this tour. I happened to be in Cleveland this weekend, though, visiting family, etc., and a friend told me to check for the show there yesterday as last-minute prices plummeted! I got two roughly $120 seats for $27 each!woot!

After having seen the show, though, I'd say it was worth $120. She sounded amazing, the band was tight, and everything was just beautiful. I hope you have an awesome time!

Damn, what a great price on seats! I thought about waiting for last minute tickets but since the second day show already had all the good seats sold out and I found a really good seat for the first show, I thought that I had better go for it instead of ending up with bad seats or, worse, no seats in August. I plan on having a wonderful time, especially after all the glowing reports on the Org from those who have seen Sade and had a wonderful experience, such as you! wink

WOW, I've truly haven't seen anyone who'd say the concert wasn't worth the money or that it wasn't one of the, or probably, the best concert they've ever been to.

I caught Sade's two shows in New Jersey this past June and I agree 100% with everything said! They were definitely worth the money. I'm actually thinking of traveling someplace - not sure where yet - to see them again.

She's coming to Chicago for a three day concert, and I want to go and see her but its gonna be a little expensive with me getting down to Chicago. (I'm in Milwaukee). I really really want to go but I'm not sure yet.

I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

She's announcing more dates... maybe something closer to Milwaukee will pop up? Not sure.

I missed some of John's set, but he did a really good job. He's got a great live voice and pretty decent stage presence. At one point he calls a girl up onstage to dance, and that's a real treat.

For me, though, his three backup singers stole the set. Very sexy sisters (one from Cleveland woot!) -- they definitely know how to throw those curves around, and they also sound fantastic.

That boring is the best thing you can see nowadays.

lol Oh that was great too. Her band is super tight, she sounded just like her albums. She doesn't have the technically prettiest voice but she sounded strong and gave us the total Sade "vibe" She too cool for school and is stunning to look at. It was great to hear full, live versions of these songs I've loved since I was a kid. The guitar/sax player Stuart Matthewman is awesome. I don't know how I missed her last two tours.

For the most part I think so. I could identify a song with the first couple of bars.

lol It's not the same. I like the total experience, not just the music, it was very theatrical and visually engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Here's an example of what I mean about the arrangements tho. It was pretty much note for note the same as the recording except when they omitted verses.

Graycap, if you can come by a decent ticket price, I'd urge you to go. Many of the arrangements are faithful to the albums, but there are some decent vamp sections and some great sax and guitar solos thrown in here and there. It's fresh stuff and definitely worth the money.

I'm really not price sensitive.........I really only go see groups that liven it it up from the studio versions. The last time I saw Sade, I damn near fell asleep.

Wow. eek I can't imagine!

Unfortunately, I have no previous Sade concert experiences to compare this to.
