New Unsung eps to feature Mary Wells, Billy Preston, Sylvers

from their Facebook:

Be careful what you wish for, because TV One has extended the fourth season of Unsung. Now you will have to sacrifice even more Monday nights to your Unsung addiction.

Thanks to all your tweets, Facebook posts and comments praising the latest season and pleading for it to be longer, TV One has added three more shows.

Whatever happened to The Sylvers, who charted #1 in both the R&B and Top 100 charts with Boogie Fever? Who kicked Motown pioneer Mary Wells to the curb? Did conflict ever stir between Billy Preston and the Beetles?

When does all this start? Here’s your schedule:

Billy Preston – July 25 @ 10pm(ET)

The Sylvers – August 1 @ 10pm (ET)

Mary Wells – August 15 @ 10pm(ET)

It's "Beatles", not "Beetles". smile

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The Mary Wells episode should be the best episode after all she was the 'First Lady of Motown' , but I wonder if they interviewed Smokey Robinson (who wrote her famous hit) and Berry Gordy. You cant do a documentary and not include someone from Motown. I know she left because there was a contractual dispute and of course money. When she left the label she never achieved pop success again and her story is a rags to riches to rags again.

Billy Preston not to desperate to tune in for his documentary unless they talk about his alleged homosexuality.

Why did they annouce these seperate from the other 6 from this season?

Either way, this is awesome.

Can't wait for these (and King) along with the future season 5.

Hopefully:

Joe Tex

The Moments

Little Willie John

Kwame (they gotta have their Hip-Hop Act)

Full Force (their 80s act)

Karyn White

Junie Morrison

PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

A BBC documentary covered that story on its documentary about Billy. I can't wait for Mary's. smile
