They're doing the "album" show I saw last year so I decided to hold off.

There's an interesting "Lefsetz" review on the L.A. gig I might post.

This topiic is awesome! I love being introduced to this new music. The very first vid was so good that I had to track down more Jacques Bart-Schwarz & Stephanie McKay.

I've never tried embedding a video here. So here goes:

Hmm, it doesn't seem to be working. Well, if you follow the link, it should lead you to good music. smile

A handful from Pat:

Pat Metheny Group, with Richard Bona - "Afternoon"

Pat Metheny Group - "Last Train Home"

Pat Metheny Group - "First Circle"

Pat Metheny Group - "Something to Remind You"

(Pat later gave this song to Philip Bailey, and played guitar on Bailey's version, since, according to Pat, the tune was inspired by Earth Wind and Fire...)

Pat Metheny, with Lyle Mays - "Close To Home"

This Lyle Mays tune (from his solo album) was later used as an interlude on the Earth Wind and Fire album, "Heritage"....)

biggrin Nice!!!! I love Bill's sound. His phrasing always sounds to me like several idioms at once -Folk, Jazz, Rock, Country, Blues, Avant Garde-noise, etc. , it's such a unique sound, yet it seems at home in any style. I actually first heard him on Lyle Mays' First solo album, weaving (and sometimes tearing) his way through the track " Ascent"..

Lyle Mays, with Bill Frisell - "Ascent"

Great track/album.

Yeah, Frisell is one of those rare wide-net players with his own unique sound.
