Yeah I thought that was off. Probably was a Bad outtake then he finished it in 1988 but left it alone I guess.

nod they felt it wasn't "hitting the mark" so Michael let Bottrell work on it while he was on tour and then Bill would send the tapes to Michael for feedback if I remember correctly

From the information I have gathered, Streetwalker was completed before BAD was released. It didn't make the final cut and may have been worked on further when MJ went on the BAD Tour.

And as for other BAD outtakes, I know there was an article about a song called Apocalypse Now that was worked on. Another song was ready called The Price of Fame. And there's another demo called What You Do To Me and Tomboy. It's also possible Buffalo Bill was worked on for BAD as well. No clue if Groove Of Midnight was ever recorded past the early demo stage. That was a Temperton track that went to Garrett. I think it was pretty much decided Temperton's sound didn't fit with the album and by this time, MJ was branching out and doing his own thing. I don't have all my notes in front of me, just thinking out loud..

I'm sure this has been brought up here before but since I'm kinda new, I'll post it anyway... The early demo of Dangerous rips off Streetwalker. Riley was brought in and created a whole new "floor" to Dangerous. Listening to both versions you can tell what that means.

Streetwalker might have a very early demo but the one that was released was recorded in 1988 according to Bill

"Streetwalker" was recorded after Bad was released. I don't understand the story told about it and "Another Part of Me" it's impossible.

But we all know how Michael is with music. For example, they mentioned how MJ brought in a guitarist and recorded "Much Too Soon" during the HIStory sessions, not knowing that he wrote that song back in 1981. According to them, he gave no impression that the song was already written years prior

I think Groove of Midnight was recorded, Just listen to Garrett's version of the song , you can hear MJ at the very end of the song ............Listen Carefully you will hear MJ at the end nod

Not a big deal that the Dangerous demo is like Streetwalker, a lot of writers turn to their own rough ideas for inspiration and may take a thing or two and use it. I do find it interesting it was completed after 1987 though, it does sound very 1988 to me now that you mention it.

And now that takes me to Cheater, do you really believe it was completed for Bad? Even though I hear it and I know the bass from it is what was used in live performances of Shake Your Body Down to the ground in the Bad tour, it sounds like it was completed after 1987. I played Cheater for a friend who's a big fan that doesn't go on forums when Ultimate Collection came out, and he said it sounds timeless that it could have fit into HIStory era too, I found that interesting

In the Dangerous court case MJ stated that the bass from Streetwalker was used as the basis for the initial demo version of Dangerous - it was intentional as MJ really liked the groove and wanted to see if it could have a new life.

Personally I always felt Streetwalker sounded too similar to TWYMMF to be included on BAD.

The first time I heard that intro - the whoo hoo, whoo hoooo - was at the BAD tour when it was used as the intro to Heartbreak Hotel.

actually that's where I first heard it too on the Legend Continues tape, but in a different scale. I heard it more clearly in TWYMMF at the Grammys which happened a few months after the launch of the tour

you said AT the Bad tour? eek you went?

Yes, saw BAD in Melbourne, Australia in 1987.

Was first in line for tickets for Dangerous in Australia, but on the morning they cancelled the sale and tour.

HIStory x 2 in Melbourne, x 2 in Sydney, Australia 1996

Sadly had ticket for This Is It x 3 nights in London

Wow lucky you! I remember Australian coverage of the HIStory tour on TV cause of him marrying Debbie and taping all that smile

The closest I got was having tickets to two shows at the o2, and I had chances to go to Indiana and Montreal in 2003 to see him, but regret not going now cause I kept insisting I would just travel if it were for a concert though I wasn't sure if he would ever do one again or not that time, and it almost happened!

I know how you feel. I was tempted to go to the 2001 NY shows, but decided not to based on I wasn't 100% sure what the shows would be like and decided I would be gutted if I flew all that way and the shows were cancelled.

My next MJ journey will be flying to Vancouver in November to see 2 Cirque Shows.

I was going to see two cirque shows, but had to give one up, I got to keep the show with the closer seats smile

I wanted to go to NYC so badly for MSG cause I'm not very far from the US border, but I knew I would not be able to. I was still practically a kid. Finishing up high school, not enough money, and so on. But I was hopeful he would do more shows and that I could move out to campus and then go off for them that way smile None of that happened at all.

I'm going to one of the Toronto shows for cirque.

And all my life, I got high off the thought of seeing MJ in person and it was finally going to happen when I scored my o2 tickets for September. It seemed like everything was set up like having enough money for it, and wanting to go to London anyways for the past few years and having the chance and happening to have relatives there I could stay with and friends from here happening to go there to do their graduate programs so I would have plenty of things to do there. I know it sounds selfish, but I lead a stressful life for years and seeing MJ being my high when I was at my worst just before his death was like having the carpet pulled from under me though if we knew what he was going through with the insomnia, I wouldn't have wanted him to do it. We just had no clue and though I accepted he may not tour again, when he said he was, I wanted to believe so badly he was ready.

Now I realize I just have addictive traits and that there are other ways to "feel high"...chemical free of course

lol but are we lying tho? I mean, if you really watch his videos, some of them make you go WTF!

Questions never answered:

Where was he in the Don't Stop Til You Get Enough video? A pinball machine?

Where was he going in Billie Jean? WHAT WAS THE ACTUAL STORYLINE? When he disappeared, where did he go?

Where all dancers in the Bad video go after the video went back to black and white? If you think about it, the Bad short film could've been edited a bit better

Smooth Criminal leaves so many plot holes I'd have to make a list for them lol

I think Don't Stop is like inside a Crystal Ball or marble

Where did he go in Billie Jean? He ended up on the bed in Beat It didn't he? lol

Michael Jackson holds the Guinness World Record for the longest span of US Top 40 singles = 39 years and 2 months

He first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 6, 1971 with "Got To Be There" and last with "Hold My Hand" on January 1, 2011.

^ Looking at that again, I'm reminded of when Marvin Gaye, though they never mentioned it in their books I don't think, had the longest span (and that was 38 years and some months between October 1962 and July 2001) when he was included as a featured vocalist (or sampled) in "Music" by Erick Sermon so it looks like Michael bested it.
