A bit of digging...

It will raise money for three charities including the Los Angeles-based Aids Project.

Wasn't this La Toya's charity of choice in The Celebrity Apprentice?

Speaking of charities - has the estate clarified which charities benefit from MJ's passing.

Yet on the concert website there are only 2 charities... this one and the Prince's trust.

Maybe the 3rd one is the Jackson family help center to help the siblings have a decent life...

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

Utter rubbish from The1592...who wants to bet that this individual would be silent on the matter concerning other artists born with a lighter persuasion?

You know someone has to say this.

Is any one else totally fatigued and irritated by white / non black folk on the org commenting on black reality, black expression and the black experience as if they have authority on the matter?

They'll continue to do it because black folk are an easy target until they regain their former position and place in the world...

People of colour assert themselves, and it's called 'arrogant' to these people. Well then, I say more 'arrogance' is needed and much more besides...

Oh, but feel free to disagree with me folk, coz I really don't give a f**k on this one.

I long for the day when these people can just be ignored.

Until then expect to see more white whine.

.

Sorry but can't believe this offensive bullshit wasn't commented on more!!

I'm a day behind but re Jarvis getting on stage before Michael did the 'Jesus' bit, I think I remember reading at the time that alot of the performers watched Michael rehearsing.

A question for Bboy...

To me releasing The Victory Tour on dvd has always been a no brainer, I assumed it hadn't been because Michael either owned the rights or they all had to be in agreement?? If that is the case surely the Estate will look at that as a possible release?

I'm wondering about it too. From what I know, the rights to the Victory Tour could be split up among the brothers. There WAS a laserdisc planned, so there's definitely a full show ready for release on the shelf

I thought so. Kinda seems like the family wants to compete with the Estate, since the Cirque shows are Estate approved. I dont even think the Thriller tribute show will even happen, it seems like they just came up with this idea at the last minute.

But I don't get it. Doesn't this just make the family look stupid as usual? They will again be connected to a failed project.

It's just another "us against the world" tactic that they've used since the Jackson 5 left Motown in 1975.

I'm probably the only MJ fan that's completely and totally uninterested in the Cirque du Soleil thing. It sounded stupid and corny to me from the beginning and still hasn't grown on me over time.

Have you seen what they did with The Beatles "Love" show. It might make you interested in it. I remains one of the best live shows I've seen.

I hope The Immortal gets the same "love".

A certain someone decided to shelve the release....... I'm not gonna say names...

points up to the sequined socks in the sky..

lol

With video footage, it may have to do with rights, production costs, and all that. We know for sure that he filmed all his shows and some of them were shot on film/reel (Hence the Victory Tour Billie Jean video, and the footage in Moonwalker, and the footage used in various special), but the question how to release it in the highest quality? and How?

I always figured it was said glittery sock wearer that held it up before lol. I assume the other brothers would be keen to have it released.

Michael Jackson Family Split On How to Exploit Him

Yesterday, some members of Michael Jackson‘s extended family made an announcement. They say they’re going to be part of some kind of tribute concert to Michael in Cardiff, Wales on October 8th. Good luck. Michael’s mother, Katherine–with LaToya, Tito and Jackie– has been roped into this quote unquote all star show in a stadium that will accommodate 75,000 people. They say the “greatest performers in the world” will be joining them. Ok. No word on what their cut of this concert will be, although there’s mention of two charities receiving something unspecified.

But Michael’s brothers, Jermaine and Randy, were obviously not happy with the deal. They’ve announced that they’re against the concert because it takes place during Dr. Conrad Murray‘s trial for allegedly killing Michael on June 25, 2009. Jermaine and Randy rarely agree on anything and certainly don’t speak to each other much since Randy’s girlfriend (and mother of his two children) left him and had two children with Jermaine, whom she married.

There’s no word on the concert from Janet Jackson, who’s on tour and is no doubt disgusted by this whole enterprise, or from the usually voluble Joseph Jackson. who’s never seen a deal he didn’t like. And what is Global Live, the company behind this project? On their website, Eric Bute, a commercial director with few credits, is listed as the American COO. He directed a music video for LaToya in 2009.
