Music Is Dead.

If it doesn't have Lil Wayne, Drake( I actually dig him), Nicki Minaj, 808 drums, corny ass eurodance or a techno beat, the subject of money, over mixed hi-hats or excessive use of the "b" and "n-word", it's not a hit.

I'm 19, and this generation is fucking insane. These people are playing the same fucking songs over and over! "Miguel "Sure Thing", that annoying ass Kirt Franklin song, "Far Away" etc...

There needs to be more people like Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, who actually has talent.

I don't even know what to say anymore...

I fucking hate seeing a rap artist or any artist hold a instrument knowing damn well they can't play the fucking instrument.(T-Pain & Chris Brown "Best Love Song" video, Jay-Z etc...)

Also, I get fucking tired of hearing how some "artist" from this decade, channeled another artist from the 60's 70's or 80's, why the fuck do you need to channel someone? Be original, or at least try.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

My son says there is plenty of good music from other artists out there--you just have to expand your internet horizons and countries to find it these days! (Although he does tend to favor older artists from many countries). You certainly won't find it on the hit charts or in American pop/R&B/hip flop music... lol

I wouldn't dispute that, but her music rampently "channels" other artists.

If music has been dead for practically every year I have been alive since the 80's, maybe we are the ones who are dead too? lol

Hindsight is 20/20, believe it or not in 20 years people are gonna say Lil Wayne was classic and no one is as good as him these days.

Sad, but ultimately true.

Well, I had underground gay house music in the 1990s to keep me entertained but if you turned on the radio (R&B radio), it was dominated by shit hop and adult contemporary back then and it still is today so as far as I'm concerned, nothing has changed in 20 years and that's a damn shame. There's never been another time where something dominated as long as 20 years. Before shit hop, styles changed every five years or so like they're supposed to.

look this is quite funny. its becoming somewhat of a cliche amongst the internet. so this is how it starts. people find old music mostly from the eighties and then claim al other music is shit. then they go on the internet and say well " I love this shit and im only 12!! or other various numbers" look music isn't dead. it can't be because it never was truly alive in the physical form.duh. it just your not trying hard enough to find it. or take the higher route and make your own music!!

The last time I was in a club (which was a few months ago), everyone in the place was in their 20s and they were all sitting around the bar like a bunch of old fogies. In the other room, the dance floor was completely empty. Not one single person on it. This was in a white gay club and the music was that trance bullshit which is too fast to dance to unless you hop around like a rabbit on speed.

I left and went across the street to the black gay club and it was the exact same thing except the music was shit hop which is too slow to dance to. People just standing around and a completely empty dance floor. It's rediculous.

And then, on the way home, the police had a damn road block and were checking licenses. I'm glad I was riding with someone else because I would have gotten a DUI if I had been alone and driving. Actually, I was kinda glad that the clubs were so shitty because that means I won't be going back any time soon and won't have to risk going through a road block. lol

No it’s not, you’re just lazy. Look harder, man. There is a lot of great music out there today but it doesn’t mean you’ll find it on the top 40 list; you just gotta look around.

For example, lately I’ve been obsessed with arabic music. Sooo goood. So much soul. &I don’t even have to understand it to appreciate the beauty of that music.

See, it doesn’t even have to be in english. I’m always discovering new music, constantly. New and old. That is the beauty of the internet; I can always find something great!
