Yep as well as Legend awards, Milleneum awards, Grammys, Ama's, Vma's, Billboard etc thats why awards and chart positions means nothing and should NEVER be compared with the greats. Its a completely DIFFERENT ball game here.

I know all about giving something attention out of hate and giving it power, but needed a place to rant. Maybe using the term wasn't the best way to put it, but I am tired of white privlege wiping out history, not only when it comes to MJ or black culture, but any minority group and any culture including my own, and negative images associated with it that are unfair. I know she isn't, it's just charts, but I'm worried people will stop saying MJ is the only one to do it now and shit like that, see what I wrote about Beiber in the other post.

I'm dealing fine and know he will never, ever be forgotten, but I feel so paranoid too that things will turn out differently in the future regarding him, and sometimes I get nightmares and though I still love him and am still a fan, the feeling is very different from before, like it went with him, though I'm still there all the way and don't have a reason not to be. In one nightmare, some old bitch was saying bad things will happen and be said, and I was yelling at them to shut up and woke up from it, I know this is so unhealthy, but it's annoying as hell.

Sweetheart I know what you're feeling. I felt it several times. But listen...

The music industry nowadays isn't what it used to be. ANYONE can be a star, even if they aren't that stellar. Katy Perry is...alright. But it's much easier nowdays to have number one hits than it was even 10 years ago.

There's always gonna be evolutions in craft. But that doesn't take away from what others have done. Think about it...people didn't forget about Charles Chaplin and Rudolph Valentino when movies went to colour and sound. People didn't forget about Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly when Michael came along. And people will never forget about Michael no matter who else comes along.

Legends remain legends and they'll forever be untouched because they are stars in the Pantheon. They will never be outshone because they were unique in their own way and they paved the way for other's creativity. They'll be imitated, but never duplicated.

Yeah I know they will never be forgotten, but even Michael was influenced by these people and I know who he emulates though he made those things his own creation, but then sometimes people of my generation or other MJ fans act like he didn't get it from anyone or was not inspired by other music of the time (eg. new jack swing) and I have to get all "music snob" on them and explain. It would be awful if someone did that to another star and didn't bring up Michael although I'm not too worried and I still see people bringing him up everywhere if someone dances like him or is dressed like him in pop culture or anything else, before death and after death. And even though I'm proud, if I suspect someone didn't care before, I get a bit obnoxious about always being a fan and they are late, though I know that's not really true and his music will live on and is timeless. I guess it's from being bitter on how he was treated or ignored by some though I know tons who appreciated him too for years.

And for the record:

Katy Perry failed to match Michael Jackson's record of five consecutive number one singles from one album on this week's Billboard Hot 100.

The singer's new track 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' remained at number four in the chart. Pitbull's 'Give Me Everything' took the coveted top spot from Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep', which had enjoyed seven weeks at the summit.

Perry's track was the Hot 100's Airplay Gainer of the week, rising 42% from 21st to 11th place. It also held its position at the top of the Digital Songs listings for a second week, despite a 4% decrease to 226,000 downloads.

The previous four singles from Perry's last album Teenage Dream - 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework' and 'E.T.' - have all topped the Billboard Hot 100.

Michael Jackson famously had five singles from Bad reach the number one spot, with 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Dirty Diana' topping the chart over 1987 and 1988.

Now I'm no lover of Katy Perry but why do MJ fans always throw mud, a douchebag might be someone who dangles their own child from a hotel window or thinks it's ok to share a bed with a child, as for class and talent did you see this is it.

This, I agree with.

I never did understand the preoccupation with sales and records in the MJ fan community, like that's the only thing MJ had to offer, was that he sold a lot of copies of shit.
