The Bob James Set ...
Keyboardist Bob James has been making music for the last 40 years, through his own Instrumental Pop and Jazz albums, scoring for TV ("TAXI"), his many collaborations with guitarist Earl Klugh, or producing ( Kenny Loggins, Patti Austin), or playing with FourPlay along with Larry Carlton, Nathan East, Lee Ritenour, and Harvey Mason.
Of course, this stuff has also been sampled to death over the years.....

A beautiful Johnny Mercer composition from Stanley Turrentine's album Cherry (1972) "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

All I have of him is a track called "courtship" from the (very good) Olympics 1984 CD:-
Nice bass twangin (credits dont say so I'll guess Marcus Miller?)
I dig the track alot. Very summery and lite. Nice use of horns and synths.
