I'd still listen to "Pumps and a Bump", too.

With headphones on.

...And I wouldn't tell anybody. lol

I WOULD.....Hammer did things for Hip-Hop that were unprecedented. The 200+ dancers onstage & the financial debacle that ensued aside, he made some pretty decent jamz.......and propelled the genre to things (at the time) considered impossible.

"Funky Headhunter" is a good album (maybe his best)...and Hammer is NOT given enough credit for his contributions as an artist.....and frankly....as a human being (he's broke today because he was too good hearted).

All true.

I'd still leave my headphones on though. lol

I just realized I saw them do the butterfly in the dance version of the video. The butterfly is THAT old?!!

"Funky Headhunter" is just good time (IMO). Ain't NO shame to dancin along. Speedos, an impressive package & razor bumps are just extra credit, baby. evillol

The oddest part about his whole "going gangsta" thing is he had a pretty good street rep. to begin with, so the gangsta image was probably more accurate than his say your prayers and eat your vitamins pop star image he created.

This is still just a party record, even if he's wearing a ski cap.

Yeah. Even more odd was people attacking him for being who he was anyway: a pop rapper lol hell I don't think the people who dissed him had more street cred than he did. Like 3rd Base for example lol

Oh, I'd enjoy it a-plenty with my headphones on. Everybody has shit they wouldn't admit they listen to, there's nothing wrong with that.

And I wasn't offering up criticism because they did the butterfly in the video so much as surprise at the fact that the butterfly is that old. It seems to me like it was just a few years ago that everybody was doing that dance.

I'm all for heaping praises on your favorite artists, but you're getting kinda weird and defensive, it's not that serious, take a deep breath.... lol

I don't know if 3rd Base ever had street cred, but they did discover Nas, and gave birth to Michael Rapaport.

Yeah that was cool on their part. I think MC Serch was the one who discovered him though.
