Beyonce sure can lie! lol

I watched this teen nick thing she did years ago she said her record company she had no hits on the album confused then she's like i had 5! then she said she had 7 consecutive number 1's? what planet is Beyonce living on? what 7 number 1's? lol and where is this mysterious 5th hit single from Dangerously In Love?

And she talked about her heart and soul going into writing her songs....

This woman she can sing but besides that i have no respect at all for her

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

I finally listened to it expecting the rest to be better than the first three we heard. I only like 1 + 1 though not that much, Best Thing I Never Had and Love On Top, which makes me think of the 70's and 90's r&b, but instead of enjoying it and singing it melodically and pretty, she was screaming the song and singing too hard that it took away from the song. In fact, there was so much of that on this album, it didn't always work though on some songs it did. This IS her weakest album, and I will not be buying it. Adios!

It is a great album. I also wish her success. Not only is she VERY talented, she works hard and deserves all the success that she receives.

Yes, indeed!

Her album is great, and I would put in the category as one of the years best. The only song on it that I throw tomatoes at is "Run the World" (which becomes less terrible after a few listens), the rest of it is very good/solid. I don't get the level of cynicism and skepticism people have for Beyonce here. It's very OTT.

I do like her, everything just sounds same-y to me this time, normally I do love her ballads. Maybe a few more listens can help it in a few weeks, but I'm not feeling it right now.

I don't hate on her, in fact I respect her grind but her "take" on Eat Pray Love advert for Target was simply cheesy too me and not needed. Seemed like she was trying waaaaaaaaay too hard when she doesn't need to do that imho. Girl just put your shit out and your fans will follow..

I usually hate on her but I gave this album a chance, and it is outstanding.

The album really is outstanding and shows Beyonce's growth.

99.9% of the hate that this woman gets is undeserved. I've always thought that a lot of this hate is based on fans of other artists who feel threatened by Beyonce's success. Beyonce is truly one of the most talented and hard working entertainers/artists out there. She always gives !50% at everything that she does. The fact that she doesn't allow all the jealousy to get to her makes me cheer for her even more.

"4" is no "Dangerously in Love," nor is it a "B-Day." For ME, it's more like "Sasha Fierce," but on an even MORE Pop level. I spent some time with it this morning and it sounded better than it did last night. Not feeling the Babyface joint at ALL. Doesn't even sound like a Babyface song. Of all the songs on the album, I'm still LOVIN' "Who Run the World (Girls.") The first time I heard it, I loved it and I STILL love it. I don't understand how it wasn't a huge hit. It's so funky and tight and I really like those "ethnic-sounding" little effects. Same with Kelly Rowland's, "Like This." That should have been huge TOO and it wasn't. sad

Anyway, I wish her all the best and hope the album's a success. Beyonce is one hard workin' sista. I'm glad all that hard work continues to pay off for her. smile

her music is too hard, and that song Run the world, not only was the beat something you couldn't dance to, you had her vocals that were very harsh, brash and loud. I don't people in general like that kind of singing paired with that kind of music. Its like the vocals didn't go with the song

Huh. I don't find "Run the World" to be undanceable. I get down to it just fine. It's s'posed 2b harsh. It's an aggressive, feminist Funk anthem. To each his/her own tho. I WAS hopin' that the album would have MORE of that "funk" sound, but it doesn't. The first time I heard the single/saw the vid, I was elated! Who run this mutha...??? Who run this mutha...??? LOVE it! smile

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Everyone who isn't liking this project is not a hater. I like her second and third albums A LOT and saw the tours for them and was on my feet the whole time, and I have great memories of jamming to Destiny's Child in my youth.

I'm sitting here listening 2 this cd and 1 thing really jumps at at me. There is NO story telling songs. What happened 2 actually telling a story in a song?

The 3 songs that I like are 1+1, Best Thing I Never Had and my favourite, Love On Top, though I feel overall she is oversinging in them. I like the beat in Party a lot, but something about the song is not jiving with me. I can see Rather Die Young being something I like later, but it sounds boring right now.

Some of these songs are comical. No story line, just a bunch of hooks.

On one song, "I Miss You" it is so obvoious that they were wrote the tract 2 Usher's "Dotcom" track that he should sue. So much 4 creating something "new". neutral

it is a very 'fake' album in my opinion..it doesnt sound like HER...it sounds like a bunch of people tried to write Destiny Child songs for her. It wasnt until BDay I actually got some personality from Beyonce.

If someone told me early this year that by now I'd be admitting that the new B's album is better than Gaga's I'd lol...still here I am. I just miss some more uptempo songs...but a very good album nonetheless.

Beyonce is going down hill this era. That's why Mathew confirmed Destiny's Child is indeed back in the studio working on a new album. We should get that some time late this year or mid 2012

That is exactly how I felt. She was a good performer during the first era, but the music? Not so much, I expected a sound like what she did for Austin Powers 3. I didn't like Crazy in Love at all in the beginning, but it grew on me. I thought Baby Boy was garbage though people my age were crazy about it. The only others I liked were Naughty Girl, and I already liked Dangerously in Love cause of the Survivor album. I loved Deja Vu and the following singles right away. B'day was so-so to me at first, but grew on me and was a very big improvement, and I bought it when the re-release came out and from loving the new tracks. Sasha Fierce had really good singles too, and I prefer the ballads over the fast songs though at first they sounded the same to me, but I like her voice on them so much and could relate to the emotions. I do agree she comes off as a technical singer a lot of times but she has had good moments too.

100 fucking percent did not like that album! Add to that list "Songs in A minor" Alicia Keys to that overrated debut that i found bland and annoying. I dug Beyonce's BDAY, not crazy about Sasha Fierce because the whole "concept" was weak because there was no difference in the two personas. But this album i think is on par with BDAY for me at least.

I didn't like Alicia Keys either when she debuted, I started appreciating her when I had to learn A Woman's Worth for my singing class and when I learned How Come You Don't Call Me was a Prince cover upon it's release and loved it. I thought the album was bland though when I checked it out, but 2002 became such a bad year musically compared to the last IMO so I gave it another chance and liked it, though it's her second album that's really good. Still though, I believe she's just a regular r&b singer that was placed behind a piano for marketing and image purposes.

I agree with you. I dont really know any song on DIL I liked to a fit. B-Day was alot more experimental and crazy. Ring The Alarm, Freakum Dress, Kitty Kat, Green Light, Get Me Bodied were especially all I needed to turn my head around...plus..video for every song...amazing promotion for a great album.

So you liked the I Am ballads? I only listened to them once and don't remember them other than Ave Maria. Even the Shahsa disc was ... bored

This album is a big step away from trying too hard to be liked like the last one. Seems like she stayed true to herself...could have used more uptempo tracks hough.
