Britney's latest tour uses pre-recorded vocals, I remain gullible.

So I watched a live stream of the Femme Fatale tour on its opening night and I was beyond excited to see/hear Britney singing live. Even the camera guy couldn't believe it. I was excited, although I've never been much of a fan, growing up with her I've always wanted her to do well and Ive enjoyed her songs here and there. But as the nights went on you can compare the performances. Looks like my naivety got the best of me. Compare the vocals on her Sacremento and Los Angelos performance of "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" its especially noticable at about 1:49 in when she goes for a short vocal run.

I guess I just really wanted it to be true that she was singing live confused

A lot of her fans will swear up and down that she's singing live this tour...I'm a Britney fan, but you can't fool me with these pre-recorded records.

Did she, at least, re-record some of the songs? I don't mind the lip syncing so much as long as it's not identical to the released record.

Not that, so much. To me, it feels like they put an effort into the show instead of pulling the released versions.

People like Brit don't sing live because of all of the dancing and I can respect that. Especially if they aren't powerhouse singers in the beginning. When you see a Britney show, you see it for the entertainment value and not for the vocal ability.

The thing is though, she doesn't dance nearly as much as she used to.

I agree with your point on putting more effort into this show, with the Circus Tour she may as well have popped a CD in and strutted around a bit. But with these pre-recorded vocals I feel a bit cheated.

Do u feel cheated at a Janet Jackson show? What about Mariah Carey, Ciara or Pink? All of them have lip synced in their shows.

Mariah and Pink? really? I need to see some proof on those two.

As for Ciara and Janet shows well I would expect as much and thats why I'd never go to one. Lip synching is just not fair to people who pay top dollar.

The first half is lip synced for sure.

The truth is, all performers lip sync from time-to-time. I have no problem with it as long as it's done for entertainment value. Even our beloved PRINCE has lip-synced on television performances. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND.

VH1 tends to tend to have performances lip synched, same with Europe's Top of the Pops.

I won't deny that many performers have in there span, but to do it on tour is alot different than on occasion for a promo appearence.

It was wise of her to hire that fine ass acrobat to distract from her lip synching!

What I can give her props on is better hiding her weaknesses on this tour, it's certainly higher quality than the Circus Tour or any of her recent promo appearences.

P!nk does not lip sync.

And yes I would feel cheated no matter who it was. There really is no excuse for lip syncing an entire show.

Nah I don't feel cheated because I already know what I'm getting out of the show. I'll be seeing Janet again on September 1st at the final show for her tour so I know what to expect

I'm not really interested in MJ from that point on.

yeahthat

I saw Rihanna sing live for an entire show for way less than the cost of watching Britney flail and mime. Leaving Rihanna I felt like I got my money's worth, I wouldn't have felt that way from Brit's.

They are from two different shows, Sacremento and LA. You can watch them to compare and prove that they are the exact same recording.

I know that Mariah used alot of pre-recorded tracks on the Mimi tour, u can easily see that on the DVD, i forgot which song it was where she was doing one of her notes and it was the recording. So i dont think what Britney is doing "pre-recording" live stuff is that out of the ordinary, its basically this, if she sings people will bitch, if she doesnt people cry foul, and yet they either go to other shows that use it, or that arent even going to see the shows, they just want to jump on bandwagon.

I mean who seriously is buying a ticket for Britney and saying "damn i hope those vocals are on point?" i mean really, if there are people feeling this way when they buy a ticket for her show or a slew of others in the same vein, they dont need concerts they need mental help.

I mean its like saying "damn Paula abdul wasnt live, or wow i hope those JLO vocals are on point" come on already people grow up.

At this point if you don't know, surprised, or concerned about Britney lipping it's on you. She's been a name since 98, most fans understand what they're getting when they attend a Spears concert.

Anyhoo, this is the most adorable thing I've seen all day.

Almost finished with my hair and makeup Anaheim. See you soon. -Britney
