You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Your right... Not that it means anything because this is a message board but its the SAME people that ALWAYS complain BUT INSIST on wasting their life on watching that crap... smh.. The last BET awards I saw was BET 2010. After all the Michael Jackson tributes I vowed to never watch any again because their was no point. Their all a hot mess and quite frankly I really could care less

How is it that the last BET awards you saw was in 2010 but "after all the Michael Jackson tributes" you vowed to never watch it again? The year of the MJ tributes was the 2009 BET awards because he passed a few days before that airing, which was why it was all disorganized with people rehearsing during crunch time (or no time at all) changing their performances to tributes to him. So apparently you did watch after the MJ tributes award year...unless you have the years mixed up. Just sayin'. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It's not always complete and utter shit. Betwixt the crap, sometimes you have a lot of old school artists who are presenting, singing, or being honored. If I catch wind that someone I like is coming on, I will watch it. And instead of turning back and forth, muting and all that, I just left it on and turned my back to most of it and muted what I didn't want to hear. Once the people I wanted to see were off, I just happened to turn around and went back to my work. I haven't watched these awards in a long time for the simple fact that they ARE hit or miss every year.
It's just an expression of opinion, though. Maybe some of us rememeber and MISS what BET used to be--which included a level of class and ground-breaking style that DIDN'T create a moan and complain fest. I also had friends online talking about it, so I wanted to join in. Long story short, it was a complete mess and I'll watch the clips of people I wanna see next year on a news site or something.

Chris Brown did a MJ tribute in 2010 bud which was the only thing I saw along with El's performance and Prince tribute. Never again....
