Anybody have their LPs?? If so what do you think,,,are they any good??

if you're talking about the new cd's Blu is suppose to come out next month called Bittersweet and Monica's All Eyez On Me still has no release date. It was suppose to come out Dec 18, but I assume it will be out in the early spring.

Any attempt to discuss Blu Cantrell's music always results in links to her pornstar photos, she is forever tarred by that which proceeds her.

On the musical side though she had a beef with jazz-tinged R&B diva Lina, who alleged Blu bit her style. Lina even did a diss track over the instrumental of Blu's big single.

Blu is Catchy but too Close in Style for Me too Faith Evans.Monica is a Really Good Singer but too Much Sappy Material that never shows you Her full range.Tight Voice Wrong Material.if Monica had more of Blu's material than Mary J.Bliege would have something to worry about IMHO&Mariah.but Monica got lumped with Brandy&got Brandy's Sloopy 2nds&it shows.

But c'mon now lets get this str8 here, Blu have a very unique voice(full of pain and anger with) she look like Faith thats true but BOTH have waaay different voices, while faith have the soothing mellow voice, Blu have the funky jazzy one.

I get stupid when I mention Brandy's name right after Monica's 4 the simple fact that Monica know how to sing circles around any female RnB act 2day including Miss Brandy who should stick with acting or just raising her kid.

As 4 Materials?? LOL Baby, nobody gives a damn about Phill Spector, Quincy Jones, Norman Whitefield, James Mutume or how they run their shit. Its sad indeed but its the truth, when a producer come up a with a "too ghetto" joint then thats all that matters.

LOL they couldn't give a damn about no basslines, guitar riffs, rythem arrangments, musical arrangments and all that mess.

They need some street joint they could nod their heads into and make phat C-Notes out of it.


The last good RnB/Hip-Hop album I could think of "musicaly" is "The Misducation Of Lauryn Hill", D'Angelo's Vodoo and "Nicole Renee's debut LP and even THOSE used sample in their shit.

I don't mean 2 shut out Jill, Erykah, India, Bilal and the rest of them "Neo-Soul" artists but seems to me that they're doing the same ol' same shit, they sing about the same issues and problems and they EVEN have the same material.

The point is, we shouldn't worry too much about how "perfect" will the material be, what we should worry about is if they(artists) can "deliever" or not. If they can then thats alright if they don't then I'll keep my money, honey!

Hell, just compare Blu & Monica 2 what you hear/see nowadays and trust me you'll overlook their materials

Monica had some tracks Released&In all Honesty there was no Street Vibe Pick Up on the tracks.that happens alot when a Album gets held back.if there aren't any Real Hits then a Company will pull back.
