The Pipettes ~ Judy You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Didn't they change members every week? Maybe the group broke up. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. I used to LOVE this group. Saw them live all five times they played here in NY in support of their first album which was my favorite of the entire 00s.
Then the original members left and they changed their sound from 60s pop to 80s. I didn't even bother listening to the new record.
Rosay released a fine solo album last year:

I can't stand their second album, why did they have to go and change their sound?? Their 60's inspired pop was right on, one of my fave songs EVER is 'Pull Shapes' , never fails to put me in a great mood . Hey baby! Don't get me in here actin' silly now! You're not taping this are you... ????

I didn't know they made a 2nd album, but I used to go to their Myspace, and it seemed the members were always different after awhile. It was like The Temptations & Menudo. Yeah, the name remains the same, but the spirit of the original Pipettes, unfortunately is no more . Hey baby! Don't get me in here actin' silly now! You're not taping this are you... ????

So many other groups are doing the 60s pop thing now anyway: The Like, The School, Lucky Soul, etc.

^^That made me think of The Bangles for some reason. Nice song. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
