It's a lot better than anything Nicole Scherzinger ever done. I give Melody a on this solo debut track. And I like the fact that it's uptempo & retro-sounding.

Umm I don't know bout that. Tracks like "amenjina" "powers out" and "don't hold your breath" from nicole on her uk cd are light years better. Melody is from that school of American idol teaching which is singing loud is good, I never understood why melody got props as the second vocalist when it was Jessica Sutta of PCD that was doing all the harmonizing and backing tracks. This track a good shift from the shitty rb stuff she was popping up on however her full cd is back to the shitty rb sounds of the day "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I strongly disagree with your review of this song. BTW, what full CD of material has she recorded?

she has an 8-track cd from about a year ago this song wasnt part of it, so obviously that album was scrapped but who knows. It circulated around the time when the "paradiso Girls" (the UK version of PCD were completing an album then were broke up) and also as Girlicious (the canadian version apparently recorded their second lp then broke up), melody had songs that were either for either project or were leftovers.
With review do U disagree with? I didnt really comment on the song, just said it was better than the lame rb she had been featured on with other artists. However Nicole has better material proven by the number one UK track "dont Hold your breath" (which Kylie would have killed for) and original compositions like "AmenJena" and "PowersOut" but reason those are unheard is they are too against the grain of what mainstream can tolerate, granted she had shitty songs like the one with 50cent,TI and WIll I am. As far as Melody sounding retro.....hmmm....im hearing more retro sounding stuff coming from Selena Gomez's singles which is scary to think. I haven't heard any track from Nicole's current UK-only release album.

Yeah its pretty good, "AmenJena" is what i wish could be heard more, its her and piano nothing else, and "powers out" is with Sting, great track, she still has a track with Coldplay that is buried somewhere and needs to surface, and "Dont Hold Your Breath" was a great track went straight to number one in the UK which showed the uk knows a bit more of what kind of music from her is better. Nicole's album Killer Love is scheduled to be available stateside this summer, August to be exact. I got the chance to preview a couple of songs this afternoon, and I will admit to liking some of the tracks.
She's a commerically viable singer, but I feel that most of the material is beyond her natural range. I think lingering thoughts of an aborted album project a little while ago and subsequent failed singles in North America might negatively impact the promotion behind Killer Love.

i think the route they are going is once again wrong, they push a single and slap a rapper on it for american release and the UK number one will not see a release niether will the sting song or the other, they dont know how to think outside the box "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I've grown tired and bored with labels pairing vocalists on their rosters with (take your pick) Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Drake and Nicki Whatshername. Obligatory guest appearances by rappers is no guarantee of chart success. The trend is going out of style and testing the patience of the public very much like 3D movies.

Try tell THAT^ to all members of the Grammy Awards Committee members! Most of the hiphop/r&b & pop artists that were nominated the last time all have rap artists as guest stars on their tracks.

Well they have made that a category now which to me is, i dont know, a little bit BS and catering when you dont have to cater, the show already has too many awards. This would be like breaking apart the category for all duo/group nominations which now can also be duets and have a seperate duet category for every genre and have 600 awards and 3 given out on the show so no one cares less about the actual award.
