Did anyone else like Christina Aguilera's Bionic? It's too long and there's too much filler but there's a really great 12 track album buried in it. Most of the bonus tracks are great, better than what made the proper album, and from "I Hate Boys"-"Birds of Prey" is a very solid stretch of music.
With the success of the Voice I wonder if the album will be reissued? Christina is a much hotter property now than she was a year ago, I think if she can scrape together a couple of strong new singles that the album could still be resurrected.

I really enjoyed it, but it was an epic fail to release 'Not Myself Tonight' as the lead single, the Lady GaGa/Madonna similarities were inevitable from that point on, and the album never really had a chance after that . I hope she releases new music soon, seeing that The Voice has been a success . Hey baby! Don't get me in here actin' silly now! You're not taping this are you... ????

the agenda was too dog it from day one, even before the album was out it was the worst thing in creation (apparently no one listened to an Eddie Murphy music album) but there were alot of good songs in here, but it was bloated which is a very 90's thing though this record came out in the 2000's, but xtina is hated first and foremost and somehow dogged more for her life and comments than say others are especially male artists, she is viewed as a bitch when a male would viewed as "speaking his mind" but again she isnt innocent either, but there was a big time agenda to dog her every move and has been for awhile. I dont thinnk they should or she should re-issue this record because that is opening a wound, i think at some point because of something else BIONIC will find more props, kind of like how people talk about Mariah's GLITTER album now being her best work, back then they dogged it, because the movie was out. My feeling is that Xtina is about to jump back into a sexier period, a little bit simple, focusing more on crossing age genres, but still not losing her younger base. It was bloated and clearly comprised to what the record company wanted, too much of it sounded like it was already dated.
That being said I think Bionic, Elastic Love and Lift Me Up where really solid tracks too. I would kill to hear here work with Goldfrapp and more of her ladytron collabs. 2012: The Queen Returns

Yup, I love it. Love. It. I think the album only flopped because people said it flopped and blah blah blah. I'm happy that she was bold enough to carry on with her project even after Gaga blowing up. I suppose she knew people were going to give her shit for it but she still released it. And overall, I think it's a really, really good album. I hate long albums but I think this has been the more diverse we've seen her.

When I first heard the album I loved it and still do. I did think its overcrowded and still do, but I believe somewhere in on that disk is the best pop album of the year. I would have been more iconic to the decade if it was released earlier as she started to record the album from 2006 till the date of its release. The label had too much say as the extra tracks should have been on the main disk.
I think what really troubled me about the release of the album was not any of the tracks but the video for Not Myself Tonight, as its a tribute to Madonna not Gaga who both has taken a lot from pop culture. It was a lazy cheap clip directed by a lazy director Hype Williams who suffers terribly with directors block, needing to steal from the past videos as he did steal the idea from Scream for No Scrubs.
It is an outstanding album from a very talented and musically knowledgeble lady. It really is her Glitter.

No, and I dislike it even more today. I actually thought it was average at first and not as bad as it was made out to be, but its not an album that aged well, it was far too dated at the time of its release to sound good today. Its the only Christina album I didnt buy. Its in the same category as Madonnas American Life to me, I love the artists so keep trying to give it a chance but it always falls flat.

Meh its alright...
I think these were the only tracks I could tolerate. I really wanted to like it more but she seemed to switch styles too often and didnt really have a sense of musical direction..she was chasing trends and trying to be herself at the same time. [Edited 6/20/11 7:00am] Straight Jacket Funk Affair
