Maddie to release Anti-Bush, Anti-War Song and Video

MATERIAL GIRL IN A POLITICAL WORLD: MADONNA PLANS VIDEO TO PROTEST WAR, BUSH

**Exclusive**

Madonna is hoping to cause maximum controversy with a new video from her forthcoming CD, AMERICAN LIFE, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Editing is in progress on a musical video concept which insiders say may be the most shocking anti-war, anti-Bush statement yet to come from the showbusiness industry.

MORE

"She's taking it all the way this time," one source said from Los Angeles over the weekend, "pushing all of the buttons... It is a sweeping political commentary on the modern 'American Dream' and how 'nothing is what is seems.'"

The song will be released to radio next week.

Dressed in commando fatigues, Madonna throws grenades as the techno terror beat pounds, claims a source. Limb-less men and women are reportedly shown, with bloody babies.

One disturbing clip features Iraqi children.

"The video escalates into a mad frenzy depicting the catastrophic repercussion and horror of war."

Madonna spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg did not return repeated calls seeking comment.

The shock film for AMERICAN LIFE comes as Madonna returns to the musical spotlight with a CD of original songs, set for an April release.

"AMERICAN LIFE is about freedom of speech," claims an insider. "It examines not only war, greed and ego, but it's self-reflective also. Madonna rejects her 'Material Girl' image once and for all, and warns of life in a material world."

If material things are a big problem for Maddie, she can always send me some dough.

Wow, if this is true, even before seeing my respect for Madonna has sky-rocketed (not that it was that low before but I may even want to buy an album or something after this)!

I bet the video will be censored in the States.

Or, at the very least, she will be called anti-american, and pro-"Old Europe".

I realise that even most American politicans nowadays talk like that about Germans and other "old Europeans". It is sad, but also very telling of their unjust cause; they don't know how to answer their critics.

Wasn't George Michael's video censored, at least in the UK?
If Madonna's video contains horrible images of war in an anti-war style, I think it will defintily be censored. Compared to the relatively innocent cartoon video of Michael, a video about the horrors of war would be much too sensitive.

She loves the controversy, so it could happen... though MTV might see airing this video as a token of some vague rock n roll edginess and put it in heavy rotation.

I don't know if Shoot the Dog was censored. I think you're right, but can't confirm.

I think she should go ahead with it. I think it would make a good impact on the public. But I don't trust Warner and MTV enough to expect it to happen.

If the video is censored,Madonna will just sell it as a DVD and make a small fortune (think "Justify My Love" and "What It Feels Like For A Girl").She's become a genuis at this smile

But,I really hope that MTV plays this video.A strong,anti-war message by a popular mainstream artist is exactly what we need right now.

She is so smart, no matter what anyone says. Her movies may bomb but she is so current. From Music to Austin, from Bond to American Life, she is dead on it.

Well, it would be nice to see an artist actually singing about something for a change. Good old-fashioned anti-war protests are always good to get the spirit of rock & roll rebellion going again!

George Michael never intended for his video STDog to come overseas to the US. I think it was shown here on news channels, but he clearly stated it was only intended for the UK.

As for WB, any publicity right now would be good. They're dropping faster than a wet sock without elastic.
BTW, I think it's cool of Madonna to do something like this.
She could ride out her fame if she wanted to, but she's not content with doing that, never has been.
Not my fave artist, but she'd deserve major kudos if she pulled this off.

I agree. Her legions of fans will no doubt milk this and claim she really does have a conscience and her motives are purely altruistic. She will do absolutely anything to sell records and get noticed. I will always listen to the music but i hate the person she is. She's like a more progressive Michael Jackson.

Madonna does what SHe has to do&if it works then it works.how can anybody trip on Madonna when a few years Back Puffy&Jermaine Dupri with Bono Produced a Re-Make of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On"? I don't think Madonna is doing this as a Stunt for Attention. The Woman has a Couple of Kids&sees the World Differently&has Evolved with time.I Wish her the Best. She Knows this War ain't even Right.Bush is a Bigot Turkey who truly Don't Care what happens.
